Being cool means first and foremost feeling good in your own skin. So, how to express your confidence through the look? Read on for tips on hair, makeup and attitude to have when around other people. Cultivate your character, but stay true to your way of being.
Steps
Step 1. Be cool
Your look will reflect your personality. You can't lie for long, so don't waste your money buying cool items. Show interest in others, be a good friend and try to dedicate your life to a specific purpose, but also to have fun. Help others, no one is better than you, just as you are not superior to anyone. You should respect everyone. Being emotionally healthy will allow you to demonstrate your confidence through your voice, posture, smile, self-esteem, successes, and the types of people you have let into your life. Assigning a certain value to your existence and that of others is cool. Being recognized for working hard and honestly and being invited to leadership positions on your merits will make a good impression and help you make more friends.
Step 2. Communicate with others using mainly body language
Show that you are relaxed. Stand straight, but don't tense up. Don't fiddle with objects in your hand and don't bite your nails. Try to smile in a friendly way and, if appropriate, giggle politely. Talk to others. If you can't do something, ask the person close to you to help you. Do it cool, don't stammer. Make sure you're confident, don't overdo it though, nobody likes braggart.
Step 3. If you are a girl, style your hair and put your makeup on
Don't do fancy hairstyles for school, you don't have to go to a fashion show. So just wear them loose, slightly wavy or curled. You can also opt for a ponytail or pigtails. As for the make-up, you can simply make a thin line of eyeliner and apply an eyeshadow and a light gloss. If you really want, add a veil of blush or bronzer, but without excess.
Step 4. Wear clothes that reflect your uniqueness, whether they are trendy or not
If you are a girl, be sure not to wear clothes that are too provocative, otherwise you could attract prying eyes. If you are a boy, you can wear a plain or patterned t-shirt; pair it with a pair of blue or black jeans. Add the right accessories, such as a belt, watch, or glasses. Go ahead and flaunt your style, whatever it is, but stay away from excesses.
Step 5. Don't try to be different
Don't buy a dress just because everyone else has it or you think it will make you look cool. Buy what you like or really want. Also, don't let someone force you to do something, it wouldn't be right.
Advice
- Sometimes it's good to be sarcastic.
- Keep calm. Don't yell "Oh my God, I knew!" when the teacher brings homework back to class and you find that you have got a very good grade. Smile to yourself and don't flaunt it from the rooftops. The more mysterious you are, the better.
- Being cool means feeling comfortable with yourself. You don't need to try to be different, this won't help you. The real trick is to be yourself!
- Always try to be composed and not seem agitated. Make yourself look nice and friendly, and people will appreciate your company.
- Join the parties! If you're not invited by your classmate just because you don't have the latest Gucci bag, be cool with her. You don't need her.
Warnings
- Don't spend a lot of money on clothes, accessories, or makeup that you think are cool.
- Don't overdo it, or people will think you're pretentious.
- Don't copy anyone - you will look desperate. The person you try to imitate may feel flattered or angry.
- Don't overdo the sarcasm. It's annoying and makes people turn away.
- Just be yourself.
- People might get the wrong idea if they start thinking that your composure is synonymous with indifference. Don't let the opinions of others affect you. You know what you really feel.
