Did you notice that you have hair in the abdominal area? Many women choose to take them off for aesthetic reasons, especially if they are dark and thick. Fortunately, there are many rather inexpensive and simple methods of getting rid of unwanted belly hair. Each technique has its own advantages and disadvantages, so it's up to you to decide which method is best suited for your characteristics.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Shave the Abdomen
Step 1. Wash the hair
Use warm water and a washcloth to soften the area's hair for a few minutes; this way, you prepare them for an easier shave.
You can also take a quick shower instead of just washing your tummy if you prefer. You will need to shave immediately after washing, as moist skin makes the procedure easier and you run less risk of cutting yourself
Step 2. Apply shaving cream
Spread it evenly over the entire area covered with hair.
Step 3. Shave
Gently slide the razor along the entire affected area, initially respecting the direction of hair growth, and then move on to a counter-hair movement. Rinse the tool with warm water with each swipe on the skin.
You should use a new, good quality razor. If you notice that you need to press too hard when moving on your skin, it is probably too old and needs to be replaced
Step 4. Rinse the area
Eliminate any residual foam and cut hair using hot water; then dry the skin with a cloth and apply a moisturizer.
Method 2 of 5: Using the Hair Removal Cream
Step 1. Test on a small area
Apply a little cream on a small area of skin for a few minutes; if you notice any adverse skin reactions, such as itching and redness, try a different brand of cream. If you don't notice any side effects, proceed with hair removal.
Depilatory creams are available in major pharmacies, supermarkets and cosmetic stores
Step 2. Wash your abdomen
The skin must be free of sebum or various lotions before starting; dry it with a cloth after cleaning. Make sure you don't have any cuts or lacerations before proceeding.
Step 3. Apply the cream
Put a generous amount all over the abdominal area affected by the hair. Use the spatula that comes with the product to spread it on the skin and wait for the time indicated on the package before continuing.
Generally, it takes about 15 minutes for the cream to work, but this detail can vary based on the type of product you have chosen
Step 4. Remove the cream and rinse
Always using the spatula provided in the package, remove the product from the skin, scraping it with downward movements; then rinse the skin with hot water to remove the last traces of cream and finally dry with a cloth.
Method 3 of 5: Lighten Abdomen Hair
Step 1. Wash the area to be treated
Use soap and water and wash your abdomen thoroughly; at the end dry it completely with a towel.
Step 2. Mix the lightening components
Commercial cream products come with instructions on how to prepare the spread; then mix the various ingredients in equal proportions.
- Any type of hair bleaching chemical on the market is effective.
- Usually, the products you find for sale consist of one part of bleach and one part of conditioner, which you will need to mix together in a bowl.
Step 3. Apply the product on the affected area
Use the brush or spatula provided with the product and spread the cream on the hairy area; let it sit for 5-7 minutes before continuing.
If you have never used bleach to lighten hair before, you should test a small area before applying the product to the whole area, to avoid the risk of potential allergic reactions. It is sufficient to spread the bleaching cream on a small area of skin and wait 5-7 minutes; after the time has elapsed, rinse and continue bleaching the other hairs, if you have not experienced any unpleasant negative reactions
Step 4. Rinse off the bleaching substance
Remove it with warm water. Treated skin may appear lighter than usual, but the effect doesn't last very long.
Method 4 of 5: Use the Wax on the Abdomen
Step 1. Apply the wax
Use the applicator that comes in the package to spread the product evenly. Prevent the wax from falling on other items, such as clothes or carpet.
You can use any commercial wax you find at major drugstores and cosmetic stores. Look for a strong one, as this type does not have to be torn against the grain and for this reason causes less pain
Step 2. Remove the wax with the wax strips
Wait for the indicated shutter speed; the wax has a sticky consistency when it is ready to be removed. Put a strip that comes with the product on top of the wax, grab it by the edge and pull it with a quick motion.
Step 3. Repeat the same procedure on the entire abdominal area that has unwanted hair
Apply the wax to another section of skin and tear it off using the strips; continue like this until you have treated the entire abdominal area.
Method 5 of 5: Using Unverified Home Remedies
Step 1. Remove unwanted hair using a papaya
Some people have found positive results using a papaya to stop hair growth. Make a dough using this fruit and turmeric powder; then massage it on the abdominal area that has hair. Leave it on for 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and apply a moisturizer.
Other ingredients you can add to the dough that potentially improve its effectiveness are aloe vera, chickpea flour, and mustard oil
Step 2. Create a lemon, sugar and honey wax
These are cheap, easy-to-find ingredients and are a natural solution to get rid of unwanted hair on the abdomen. Pour the three components into a bowl, heat them and mix them thoroughly until they form a thick paste. Sprinkle the abdomen with cornstarch and then apply the warm paste to the skin. Press a cloth or depilatory strip on the area covered with the paste and pull in the opposite direction of hair growth.
Know that with this "natural wax" you do not get the same results as a commercial wax, but if you have moderate hair growth it is more than enough
Step 3. Make a mask with egg white
Combine egg whites, sugar and cornstarch, apply the mixture on the abdomen and then wait for it to dry. Once dry, gently remove the mask and you will notice that it has retained some hair.
Step 4. Try a sugar and molasses remedy
You can get good results by combining sugar, molasses, lemon and applying them to the skin to be treated. First, combine the sugar and molasses in a bowl; let them rest for a few minutes and then put them in the microwave until the sugar dissolves; at this point, add the lemon juice and mix the ingredients thoroughly. Apply the paste on the abdomen and let it dry; finally, tear off the dough following the opposite direction of hair growth.
Warnings
- Make sure you follow the instructions on the packaging of the hair removal cream carefully.
- Be careful when using the razor to not cut yourself.
