Organizing an authentic spa day at home can relax you and make you more beautiful, just as if you were in an expensive establishment. Pick a day when you won't be interrupted, turn off your mobile and light a few candles to set the mood. Then, take a long warm bath, prepare a face mask, and complete the day with a manicure and pedicure.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Take a Regenerating Bath
Step 1. Prepare a warm bath
Fill the tub with water of the right temperature, which can be boiling or slightly warm. As the tub fills up, dim the lights and light a few candles. In addition to this, you can be able to relax further by making other preparations suitable for the situation. For instance:
- Pour a glass of wine or make a cup of tea to sip while in the water.
- Listen to your favorite music.
- Light some incense.
- Prepare a fluffy towel or bathrobe.
Step 2. Add bath salts, essential oils and other ingredients to the water
This is a great way to make bath time more enjoyable and also give you the benefits of aromatherapy. You don't have to limit yourself to bath salts. You can also add a lot of foam, bath oils, bath pearls, and any other ingredients that help you relax.
- If you want, you could add milk and oatmeal to the bath, as they have a moisturizing effect and are great for dry skin.
- Or, try adding sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, or a tablespoon of coconut oil. You will come out of the water with soft skin like that of a baby.
Step 3. Try a face mask
At a spa, you would be offered to choose between a seaweed mask and a mud mask. The former is not easy to reproduce at home, but you can easily recreate the latter using cosmetic clay. After leaving it on your skin for a few minutes, rinse it off. Gives a feeling of freshness and softness to the skin.
- Mix half a cup of cosmetic clay and two tablespoons of water to make a thick solution.
- Apply it on your arms, legs and torso.
- Let it dry while the water runs into the tub.
- Rinse it while you're in the tub.
Step 4. Massage sore muscles while in the water
You know, the moments of hard work far outweigh those of relaxation, so you probably have a sore back, legs, arms or neck. Take some time to massage the muscles with your fingers and dissolve in the warm water.
Step 5. Exfoliate the skin
Use a loofah sponge or body scrub to completely exfoliate your arms, legs and torso. Your skin will be soft, smooth and healthy when you step out of the tub.
- Make gentle, circular movements to remove dead skin cells.
- If you like, shave your legs and other body parts after exfoliation.
Step 6. Dry off and apply a nourishing lotion
Use a towel to pat the skin, then fix the hydration by applying a lotion or body cream to the arms, legs and torso. After spreading this product all over your body, put on the bathrobe and give it time to soak into your skin before getting dressed.
Part 2 of 3: Get a Face Treatment
Step 1. Gently exfoliate the skin on your face
Moisten it with warm water and use a sponge or a special brush to remove dead skin cells. Be sure to use gentle circular motions instead of applying pressure, since the skin on the face is sensitive. In fact, it may lose tone and wrinkle with aggressive treatment.
Face scrubs are just as good. Buy a prepackaged one or prepare it by mixing the following ingredients: a tablespoon of olive oil, a tablespoon of chopped almonds or chopped oats, and a teaspoon of water. Use it to exfoliate your face, then rinse with warm water
Step 2. Prepare a steam treatment
Fill a saucepan with water and heat it on the stove until steam begins to escape. Place a towel on the back of your head and fold it towards the saucepan to let the steam caress your face. Keep it in this position for two to three minutes to fully absorb the benefits of the steam.
- Make sure you don't bring your face too close to the saucepan or you will start to feel excessively hot. You should feel a rather warm sensation on your skin, but not uncomfortably hot.
- Make the steam treatment even more enjoyable by adding a few drops of essential oil to the saucepan. Those with lavender, tea tree oil and rose have a relaxing effect.
Step 3. Make a face mask
Making a mask at home is a lot of fun, and can leave your skin feeling soft like a baby's. Use a purchased product or follow a recipe using ingredients available in the kitchen. Apply the solution to your face and leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse. Here are some classic ideas for making a mask:
- For dry skin: mix a teaspoon of honey and one of olive oil.
- For normal skin: Mix a teaspoon of honey and a banana pulverized.
- For oily skin: mix a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of cosmetic clay.
Step 4. Hydrate your face
Fix in the hydration that has been given to you by facial treatments and complete the process by applying a good cream on the skin. You can use a prepackaged lotion or a drop of oil suitable for the skin of the face, such as jojoba, argan or sweet almond. These products balance the skin without causing acne.
If you have particularly dry skin, use coconut oil. However, if your pores tend to become clogged, it could cause pimples to appear
Part 3 of 3: Doing Manicures and Pedicures
Step 1. Remove the old nail polish
Work on a clean surface by removing old nail polish from fingernails and toenails. If possible, use an acetone-free product, as acetone dries them out.
Step 2. Dip your fingers
Fill a bowl with warm water and soak your fingers for five minutes, the nails should be completely submerged. This step softens your nails and cuticles, so it will be easier to work with them.
Do not pour oils or soaps into warm water. It is best to use only water, so there will be no residue on the nails when you apply the polish
Step 3. Cut and file your nails
Use a nail clipper or scissors to give each nail a rounded shape, smoothing the edges. With a file, smooth out rough spots and even out your nails so that they look like they came out of a beauty salon.
Step 4. Push the cuticles back
Take a cuticle pusher or orange stick to gently push the cuticles back so they are no longer visible. Proceed with extreme care, and do not tear or cut the cuticles, as their function is to protect the fingers from infection.
Step 5. Apply the nail polish
For a good manicure, you need to use at least three products: apply a base, nail polish and a top coat. Some like to do more than one swipe of color to ensure optimal coverage. Let your nails dry completely between strokes to prevent smudging.
- The best way to polish your nails well is to coat both sides, then fill in the middle.
- If you want to make a design on your nails, take care of it after applying the polish, then, at the end, add the top coat to fix it.
Step 6. Take a foot bath and exfoliate your feet
Feet are often neglected in daily care, but this day you have to dedicate it entirely to yourself, so give yourself plenty of time to get it right. Soak your feet in the tub or a container filled with warm water. If your feet are dry or callused, use a pumice stone to smooth the rough areas.
Some stubborn corns need additional surgery to get rid of. Try a scraper or other scraper designed to remove calluses and dry skin
Step 7. Trim and polish your toenails
Create a shape with the nail clipper, making sure to round the edges to prevent ingrown toenails. You can give yourself a complete treatment and pedicure using base, nail polish and top coat. Alternatively, you can simply apply a coat of clear polish to protect your nails and promote healthy growth.
Warnings
- Be careful when applying the mask on your face: do not spread it around the eye area.
- Read the instructions and warnings on the body scrub packaging - some are not good for children.
