You probably have a habit of making scrambled, poached or hard-boiled eggs using your kitchen hob and so far you have always had good results. However, eggs require constant attention while cooking and when you are in a hurry or are distracted by something else, you hardly have time to keep them in check. Luckily, scrambled, poached or hard-boiled eggs can also be baked in the oven: all you need is a muffin pan. The result will be just as tasty, but you don't have to check them too much. All you have to do is set the timer and let them cook!

Steps
Method 1 of 3: Make Oven Scrambled Egg Muffins
Step 1. Preheat the oven and grease the muffin pan
To make sure the oven is hot enough to cook the eggs, it's important to preheat it. Set the temperature to 180 ° C and let it warm up well. Then, grease a 12-piece muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray so the eggs don't stick to the bottom.
If desired, the muffin pan can also be greased with butter or margarine
Step 2. Break the eggs into a bowl and beat them
Break a dozen eggs into a large bowl. Beat them with a whisk, just as if you were making scrambled eggs.
- Alternatively, you can also use an egg substitute. Follow the instructions on the package to determine the exact doses to replace a dozen eggs.
- To reduce calories and cholesterol, some whole eggs can also be substituted with egg whites.
Step 3. Add the vegetables, seasonings, and cheese
Beat the eggs, incorporate 75 g of diced onion, 45 g of diced green pepper, 1 g of garlic powder, 60 g of cheddar cut into strips, salt and pepper to taste. Stir until you get a well blended mixture.
- Eggs can be mixed with as many vegetables and greens as you like, such as mushrooms, spinach and / or tomatoes. Just make sure you cut them into cubes so that they are small enough to fit smoothly into the compartments of the pan.
- Cheddar can be replaced with gruyere or provolone. If you prefer, you can mix two or more cheeses.
- If you want the eggs to be more substantial, you can also add cooked or sliced meat, such as sausage, bacon or ham.
- Incorporating frozen hash browns cut into strips also makes them more substantial.
Step 4. Pour the egg mixture into the compartments of the pan
Mix with the vegetables and seasonings, transfer the eggs into the compartments of a greased muffin pan with a spoon. Try to calculate about 80ml of mix for each compartment.
Step 5. Cook the eggs until they have thickened
Place the pan in the preheated oven and let it cook for about 20 to 25 minutes - the eggs should become compact. Insert a knife into the center of a muffin to make sure it comes out clean.
- Cooked egg muffins can be frozen. Let them cool, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze them until they have solidified. Then move them to an airtight freezer bag and put them back in the freezer.
- Individually reheat frozen muffins in the microwave. Let them heat up on full power for 30-60 seconds (or longer if necessary).
Method 2 of 3: Prepare Poached Eggs Using a Muffin Pan
Step 1. Preheat the oven
To cook eggs properly, the oven must be hot. Set the temperature to 180 ° C and let it warm up well.
Once preheated, the oven will notify you by means of a beep or a light. Read the manual to find out which reporting method you use
Step 2. Pour water into each compartment of the muffin pan
Before breaking the eggs, you need to pour water into each individual compartment. Calculate 1 tablespoon (15 ml) for each egg you intend to cook.
Step 3. Break an egg into each compartment of the muffin pan after adding the water
It is not necessary to fill all the compartments: if you prefer, you can also prepare just 1 or 2 poached eggs.
If you pour the eggs directly into the muffin pan it means less dirt on the cookware. However, it may be easier to break the eggs into a small, shallow container, such as a baking tray, and then carefully pour them into the special compartment of the pan
Step 4. Bake the eggs and wait for the egg white to become compact
Pour the eggs into the pan, put them in the preheated oven. Let them cook for 11-15 minutes or until the egg whites have solidified.
- If you prefer the yolks to stay liquid, bake them for 11-13 minutes.
- If you prefer the egg yolks to be a little more cooked, bake them for 14-15 minutes.
- As you take the pan out of the oven, you may notice that the water has risen to the surface and settled on top of the eggs. Be sure to examine them carefully to determine if they have been covered in water or if the egg white has not yet solidified completely.
Method 3 of 3: Prepare hard-boiled eggs in a muffin pan
Step 1. Preheat the oven
To prepare hard-boiled eggs, it must reach the right temperature. Set it to 165 ° C and let it warm up.
Some recipes require you to heat it to 180 ° C, so you may want to experiment with both temperatures to figure out which one is best for your type of oven
Step 2. Insert an egg into each compartment of the pan
After preheating the oven, prepare the eggs for cooking. Place them in the compartments of the muffin pan. You can fill it completely or just cook a few eggs, depending on your needs.
Step 3. Bake the eggs for half an hour
Place the pan in the preheated oven without shaking it. Cook for 30 minutes.
It's important to avoid letting them cook for too long, so set a timer to remind yourself to take them out of the oven
Step 4. Remove the pan from the oven and place the eggs in a bowl filled with ice water
After half an hour, take the pan out. Pick up the eggs with tongs and drop them carefully into a large bowl filled with ice water. Let them cool for a few minutes.
To be on the safe side, we recommend leaving them in ice water for at least 10 minutes
Step 5. Peel the eggs and eat them
Once they are cool enough, remove them from the water and dry them with a clean towel. Peel them as usual and serve them.
Step 6. Enjoy your meal
