If you have some leftover boiled rice, and a few minutes of free time, you can make 'kheer', a delicious Indian dessert. Children and adults of all ages will love its flavor and texture.
Ingrediants
- Boiled rice
- Sugar
- Milk (twice as much as rice)
- Cardamom seeds (optional)
Steps
Step 1. Mix the boiled rice and milk
The amount of milk added determines the density of the recipe.
Step 2. Add the sugar
Generally 100 g of sugar is ideal for every 250 g of boiled rice, but if you love very sweet flavors you can increase the quantities to your taste. If you wish, add some cardamom seeds as well.
Step 3. Finally, bring all the ingredients to a boil
Stir frequently to keep the kheer from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
Step 4. Heat it for at least 10 minutes and then let it cool to room temperature or in the refrigerator
Step 5. This recipe allows you to use leftover boiled rice effectively and is also suitable for anyone with chewing problems, pregnant women and the elderly
Advice
Serve the kheer with some fresh fruit cut into pieces, such as apples, strawberries, bananas, pineapples, etc. You can pour the kheer directly onto the fruit and decorate with a few more pieces of fruit. Your guests will eat a dessert that is as tasty as it is healthy
