After you have made the effort to prepare your jelly and have managed to give it the desired shape, it is important to know how to effectively remove it from the mold. The base of the mold creates a vacuum which is important to break in order to successfully extract the gelatin. This article demonstrates two simple and effective methods.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Hot Water Method
Step 1. Fill a bowl with hot water
The bowl should be wider than the jelly mold.
Step 2. Place the mold in the hot water
Be careful not to submerge the jelly too!
Step 3. Wait just a few seconds and then remove the gelatin from the mold
Step 4. Extract the jelly
It should keep its shape perfectly.
Method 2 of 2: Boiling Water Method
Step 1. Fill a bowl with boiling water
Step 2. Immerse the mold three times in water
Step 3. Place the mold on a solid surface
Press the gelatin along the edges of the mold, using your fingers. Gently peel off the jelly from the edges.
Step 4. Turn the mold upside down on a flat plate
Place your hands on the base of the plate and on the base of the mold. Move both quickly and firmly, the jelly should come off the mold.
Step 5. Finished
Advice
- Wet the dish with cold water before transferring the gelatin to it. When you take the gelatine out of the mold, tilt the plate to place it in the center.
- Alternative method: before pouring the gelatine into the mold, rinse it in cold water and grease it with a thin layer of oil. At the right time, the gelatin can be removed very easily and will have a brilliant finish.
