Steps
Method 1 of 3: Tea with Fresh Rose Petals
You can use rose petals from your garden for this recipe. However, it is important that no pesticides have been used.
Step 1. Find fresh petals that come from non-pesticide treated roses
You will need a good amount of it: 25 grams is the minimum, but it is better to use 50 which corresponds to about two cups. Put the fresh petals in a colander and rinse them under running water.
Step 2. Add the rose petals to a pot in which you have poured 750ml of water
Step 3. Boil the petals for 5 minutes
Then strain them and pour the infusion into the teacups.
Step 4. If you wish, you can sweeten the tea with honey
Method 2 of 3: Rose Green Tea
Step 1. Dry the rose petals
If you don't want to buy them dried from a tea and tea shop, you can dry them yourself. In this case, you need to make sure they taste sweet rather than bitter. If in doubt, you can ask a horticultural specialist for advice on choosing the most suitable variety of roses.
- Make sure the petals aren't wet with dew, then peel them off the roses.
- Arrange the petals in the mesh container and then seal it.
- Hang the container in a warm, dark and dry place to dry the petals. It will take a few days, up to a week, depending on the degree of humidity in the environment.
Step 2. Make the rose tea
When the petals have dried, you can use them to flavor your tea. Combine them with equal parts powdered green tea.
Step 3. Store the rose tea blend in an airtight container and protect it from light
Step 4. Make the rose tea by following the instructions on the powdered green tea package
If you wish, you can sweeten it with honey.
Method 3 of 3: Rose Scented Tea
Step 1. Select a good quality black tea
Roses will make it tastier and more fragrant, but it's essential to start with a good foundation to get the best possible result. You can use oolong tea or a blend of green tea and black tea to savor its rich, delicious and fruity aromas.
Step 2. Place the tea leaves and rose petals in a large bowl
Mix them gently.
If you wish, you can also add some small dried rosebuds to make the tea look even more inviting. Make sure they are also organically grown
Step 3. Transfer the mixture to one or more airtight containers
Place a label on the outside specifying the content, date and expected expiry date.
Step 4. Wait a few days before using the blend to make tea
This way the rose petals will have time to transfer some of their aroma to the leaves. Most of the taste will come when you steep the mixture into boiling water, so there's no need to wait long.
Step 5. Make the rose tea by following the instructions that accompany the black tea you used as a base
Once ready, you will feel that the rose petals will have pleasantly flavored it.
