- 100 g butter or margarine
- 1 teaspoon of grated lemon zest (optional)
- 250 g sifted icing sugar
- 1 - 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- Yellow food coloring (optional)
Steps
Step 1. Beat the butter or margarine, with an electric whisk or a hand whisk, until the mixture is light and soft
Step 2. Add the lemon zest and mix
Step 3. Add the icing sugar gradually as you continue to whisk the mixture
Continue until it becomes smooth.
Step 4. Pour in the lemon juice
Add in small amounts until the glaze takes on a spreadable consistency. It is always better to add too little than to overdo it.
