Steps
Method 1 of 4: Cleaning the Prawns
Step 1. Shell the prawns
They should be in cold or ice-cold water when you do this. To peel them cut off their heads and legs. Next, remove the shell, starting from the side of the head. You can decide to leave the tail, for decorative reasons, or remove it; it is easier to eat them if you take it off.
-
Put the shells in a plastic bag and close it tightly before throwing it in the bin.
-
If you want to use the shells to make broth, seal the plastic bag and freeze them.
-
You can decide to leave the shell to flavor the shrimp, although this would make them a little more difficult to eat. If you decide to do this, you should cut the shell with kitchen scissors to facilitate the removal of the intestine.
Step 2. Remove the intestines
Always do this before cooking the prawns. Score the back of the prawns with a small knife. To reach the intestine, that kind of dark string that contrasts with the rest of the prawn, the depth of the cut should be at least 0.6 cm.
As soon as you see the intestine, pull it out with your finger or the tip of the knife. If you don't find it, proceed with another prawn
Step 3. Leave the prawns in cold or ice water until you cook them
Don't leave them elsewhere while you prepare the rest of the recipe.
Method 2 of 4: Simple Prawns
Step 1. Clean 450g of prawns
Shell them and remove the intestines.
Step 2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2-3 tablespoons (30-45 g) of butter in a pan
Heat over medium-high heat until the butter is melted. As soon as the butter is completely melted, continue with the recipe.
Step 3. Add 3-4 cloves of minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
Sauté the ingredients in a pan for a few minutes, until the garlic begins to brown.
Step 4. Pour the prawns into the pan
Turn them over.
Step 5. Add the white wine
Pour it over the prawns and mix because it blends its flavor with the butter, oil and spices. Move the prawns well across the surface of the pot as you stir.
Step 6. Let it evaporate for 2-3 minutes
Turn up the heat and let the wine evaporate until the prawns are almost dry.
Step 7. Turn the prawns
Using a kitchen spatula, turn the prawns over so that the uncooked part comes into contact with the oil. Let it cook for another minute.
Step 8. Remove from heat
Step 9. Add 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley
Pour it over the prawns to flavor them.
Step 10. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
Pour the juice over the prawns.
Step 11. Add salt and pepper as needed
Step 12. Serve on the table
You can serve this dish alone with pasta or rice. You can also complete the dish with a side of toast.
Method 3 of 4: Linguine with Prawns
Step 1. Clean 900g of prawns (about 30)
Shell them and remove the intestines.
Step 2. Bring a pot of water to a boil
You will need it to cook the linguine. You can also add a pinch of salt.
Step 3. Heat 5 tablespoons of olive oil and butter in a pan over medium-low heat
Before continuing, wait until the butter is completely melted.
Step 4. Add 3 tablespoons of minced garlic, 1 lemon zest and 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
Step 5. Add salt and pepper as needed
You can add a pinch or more, depending on how much you want to flavor the prawns.
Step 6. Stir for 3-4 minutes
Turn this sauce over slowly, avoiding burning the garlic.
Step 7. Add 1/4 (60 ml) of a cup of lemon as soon as the garlic is golden
Step 8. Pour 680 g of linguine into the water
As soon as the water reaches boiling temperature, pour in the linguine and follow the instructions on the package. Usually, linguine cooks in 7-11 minutes.
Step 9. Pour the prawns into the sauce
You should try to do this when the linguine is half cooked, so that the prawns and the linguine are cooked at the same time.
Step 10. Saute one side of the prawns for 1-2 minutes
Don't move them.
Step 11. Fry the other side for 1-2 minutes
Using a kitchen spatula, turn the prawns. Cook until the prawns turn pink. Once cooked, turn off the heat.
Step 12. Add 1/2 lemon, finely chopped
It will give the prawns a touch of lemon flavor.
Step 13. Drain the linguine as soon as it is cooked
Make sure you leave a few tablespoons of water in the bottom of the pot.
Step 14. Return the linguine to the pot
Step 15. Add the king prawns and sauce
Mix well to incorporate the ingredients into the pasta and water, which will give the sauce a stronger flavor.
Step 16. Garnish with Parmesan and chopped parsley
You can mix the ingredients with the rest, or leave the Parmesan and parsley on top of the pasta.
Step 17. Serve on the table
You can serve the pasta alone or with a little bread. You can enjoy it with a glass of white wine.
Method 4 of 4: Spicy prawns

Sauté for 2 minutes until the garlic begins to brown.
Step 4. Pour the prawns into the sauce
Cook them on one side for 2-3 minutes.
Step 5. Fry the other side of the prawns
Using a spatula, turn the prawns. Cook until the prawns turn pink. Once cooked, turn off the heat.
Step 6. Add 4 teaspoons of chopped cilantro and lemon juice
Sprinkle the juice of two lemons directly onto the prawns.
Step 7. Add 1 teaspoon of parsley
Step 8. Serve on the table
Serve the shrimp on rice and with a side of beans.
Step 9. Finish
Advice
- To add some flavor, try marinating the prawns for 1 or 2 hours before cooking.
- Add chopped lemon for a strong, pungent flavor recipe.
- Add other seafood, such as scallops or lobster. Seafood combines well and their flavor goes perfectly with that of garlic.
- Add some pasta for a simple variation. Fettuccine are great for recipes with seafood.
- Instead of pan-fried king prawns, try baking them in the oven. Mix the ingredients and cook at a temperature of 200 ° C for about 15-20 minutes. Turn the prawns 5 minutes after the start of cooking.
Warnings
- Do not overcook the prawns. If you do, they may harden.
- Do not continue to cook the prawns if they have dried or you could burn them. Add a little oil or butter.
- Do not put prawns soaked in boiling oil. The oil would start to crackle and you could burn yourself.
