If you've recently made a money transfer with Moneygram, it's a good idea to learn how to track the transfer to make sure the money is received and collected by the recipient. To make the process easier, be sure to keep the receipt attached to the transfer application, at least until the money has been cashed. Follow the steps below to find out if the money sent has been cashed.
Steps
Step 1. Find your MoneyGram transfer identification number
It is usually found on the left side of the receipt. To determine the status of the transfer in case you have lost your identification number, you will need to fill in the "Lost Identification Number" form available on the MoneyGram website. All MoneyGram transfers have a unique identification number specifically used for tracking purposes.
Step 2. Call MoneyGram
The toll-free number is (800) 542-3590. This number is connected to an automated system, and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The service is free.

Step 3. Enter the required identification number
If you make a mistake, you will have the option to re-enter the number.
Step 4. Enter the required transfer amount
You can't track the money transfer without knowing the exact amount.
Step 5. The system will tell you if and when the money was collected
If the money has not yet been collected, the system will notify you. Keep in mind that if you sent the money to the recipient less than 2 weeks before tracking, the money may still be processing at post offices.
