The main transport services, such as USPS, UPS and FedEx, include tracking (or tracking) of the package with the purchase of postage. Save your shipping receipt, so you can track your package within a few hours of sending it.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Tracking a USPS Package
Step 1. Ask the employee at your post office if tracking is included in the shipping costs
- Priority and Standard Mail packages include United States Postal Service (USPS) tracking services. This service is available with shipping online or at the post office.
- Tracking is not included in media or first class services. Tracking service can be added for an additional fee.
Step 2. Purchase other services, such as delivery confirmation, signature, certified or registered mail
- You will need to fill out a slip of paper to use these services.
- These forms are available near the mailing materials.
- Fill out the delivery confirmation form before going to the assistant.
- Spend more money to buy these services.
Step 3. Find your USPS tracking number
- If you are using standard or priority mail or other confirmation or delivery services, the tracking number will be on your receipt.
- Look for the phrase "tag #:" under the description of the purchased service.
- Highlight that number to easily identify it in the future.
- If you purchased a product and it is being shipped to you via USPS, please check the shipping confirmation email or contact the seller for the tracking number.
Step 4. Wait until the evening of the day you shipped your package
Tracking labels are entered into the system throughout the day, but cannot be shown until all evening postal journeys have returned
Step 5. Go to https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction!input.action to track your package
Enter the number of the tracking label taken from the receipt
Step 6. Press the “Find” button
Read the information about your package
Step 7. Call the USPS Tracking Number if you do not have access to the USPS site
- You can also call 1-800-222-1811 to track the package.
- Use the automated system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Talk to customer service between 8am and 8.30pm Monday to Friday or between 8am and 6pm Saturday.
- Customer Service Representatives work in Eastern Standard Time.
Method 2 of 4: Tracking a UPS Package
Step 1. Ask the UPS employee to highlight the tracking number
All UPS shipments should have the tracking service.
If you are tracking a package that has been sent to you, you can consult the order shipping email to find the tracking number

Press the "Track" button.
You can start accessing tracking information within approximately 12 hours of initial shipment
Step 4. Look at your package's recent tracking information
- Sign up for a UPS account if you want the online service to save your tracking codes.
- Choose to receive updates on your package via text message. Look for the Monitoring Details page and click on "Request Status Updates".
- Enter your mobile number and confirm that you wish to receive the sms.
- If you have created an account, you can choose this option for future parcel tracking.
Step 5. Use the UPS email tracking method
- Track your package by email. Send an email to [email protected].
- If you are tracking a single package, please put the tracking number in the subject line and send it without message in the email body.
- If you are tracking multiple packages, please write all the tracking numbers on separate lines. You can leave blank in the subject line.
- You should receive an email with the tracking information within the day.
Method 3 of 4: Tracking a FedEx Package
Step 1. Find the tracking number on your FedEx receipt
- This code may be listed on your shipping confirmation as a tracking, reference, or freight control number.
- It can also be included in the shipping confirmation email.
- If you have a FedEx shipping account, you can use your tracking number, account number, and shipping date to track your package by tracking code.
Step 2. Go to
- Enter the tracking number. It is up to 30 characters long.
- Use one tracking code per line.
Step 3. Press the “Track” button
Step 4. Consider subscribing to additional tracking methods if you are a frequent FedEx customer
- Download the FedEx Desktop App if you need to access shipping information for business purposes.
- Download the FedEx Mobile app for iPhone, Android and Blackberry. You can track shipments, edit deliveries, get rates and schedule pickups from your phone. You must register for a FedEx account to use the services of this application.
Method 4 of 4: Track Packages with Third Party Sites
Step 1. Find your tracking number or receipt

- Allow the website to automatically detect the carrier. Different couriers use different alphanumeric combinations.
- Click on the "Track it" button.
- Look at your package information.
Step 4. Consider logging into Packagetrackr using your Gmail, Yahoo, Windows Live or OpenID email account
- Once you are logged in, the service can save your tracking numbers.
- You can also download the Packagetrackr mobile app by going to m.packagetrackr.com.
- This is the best option if you have a tracking number, but aren't sure which courier was used.
