This simple birthday card is suitable for anyone who loves to travel and dreams of exploring the whole world!
Steps
Step 1. Cut out a piece of a map (choose a country or region your friend would like to visit)
It needs to be a little smaller than the cardboard (about 0.5 - 1 cm) to be able to glue it on top of it.
Step 2. Cut a light blue piece of paper and lightly burn the corners, write "Happy Birthday" using a thick silver marker and glue it to the top right corner of the card
Step 3. Cut blue, red, yellow, beige paper strips (approx. 0.5 cm wide) to create a balloon with the quilling technique
Step 4. Use the quilling technique to make 6 "tight spirals" for the balloon basket (read the detailed description of this technique in the "Tips" section)
Step 5. Use the quilling technique to make 2 "crescents" for the top of the balloon (read the detailed description of this technique in the "Tips" section)
Step 6. Use the quilling technique to make 7 "elongated crescents" for the balloon basket - read the detailed description of this technique in the "Tips" section
Step 7. Glue the quilling parts to the card to create a balloon
Step 8. Add gold stickers to the corners of the card
Advice
- "Narrow Spiral" - roll a strip of paper around a tool (use a toothpick to start), making sure to line it up nicely and roll it up. Use some glue to secure the end of the paper strip and hold it in place for a while until the glue takes effect. Remove the tool (in this case the toothpick).
- "Crescent" - make a wide spiral and squeeze it to get a semicircular shape. Press in the center of the semicircle as you curve the ends to get a crescent shape.
- "Long Crescent" - make a VERY large spiral. Press in the center as you curl the ends so that you get an elongated crescent.
