Resetting a Nook HD will return the tablet to the state it was in just out of the manufacturer. This means that all apps and user data will be deleted, returning the tablet to its original condition. It's a simple process, but at the same time, it needs to be planned carefully and some computer knowledge is needed. To start resetting your tablet, go to step 1 of this article.
Steps
Step 1. Make sure your Nook HD is fully charged
To successfully reset it, your tablet will need to have a charged battery.

Take the cable to charge your Nook HD and the plug for the electrical socket.

Plug it into an electrical outlet.

Insert the smaller end into the port to charge the tablet, at the bottom.

To be able to reset the tablet, you will need to have at least 50% battery. Even a little less than 50% might be fine. Just make sure the tablet doesn't have too little battery.
Step 2. Go to the Settings menu
At the top right of the screen, tap the "Settings" button. This will bring up a menu that will allow you to easily access the tablet controls.
Step 3. Tap "All Settings"
A menu will open showing you more detailed control options.
Step 4. Tap "Device Information" in the left panel
Here you will be shown relevant information about your tablet, such as the software version and MAC address.
Step 5. Tap "Erase and Unregister Device"
It is located at the bottom of the menu.

Step 6. Read the notice that appears
If you are sure you want to proceed, tap the "Erase and Deregister Device" button.
Another warning will appear, asking you if you are really sure to reset your tablet
Step 7. Tap "Clear NOOK"
The device will take about 5 minutes to reset. When the process is complete, the Nook will be completely new, like when you bought it. It will reboot and then begin the initial setup procedure.
