This article explains how to apply face filters (also called "effects") to TikTok videos using an iPhone or iPad.
Steps
Step 1. Make sure your device is compatible with face filters
Effects are not available for older versions of iPhone and iPad. You will have no problem if you use at least one of the following models: iPhone 5, iPad 4 or iPad mini 3.
Step 2. Open TikTok
The icon is represented by a black square containing a white musical note. It is usually found on the home screen.
Step 3. Tap + at the bottom of the screen
Step 4. Tap the effects icon, a box located at the bottom left
The list of available face effects will open.
Step 5. Review the filters and tap the one you want to use to select it and preview it
Step 6. Tap anywhere in the preview to return to the recording screen
The filter will then be selected.
Step 7. Turn the video and tap the check mark when you finish
If you want to use a song, you can click Add Sound at the top of the screen to select a song before starting to shoot the video
Step 8. Edit the video and tap Next
If you want, you can add more filters and use other editing tools.
Step 9. Write a caption and tap Publish
The video will be shared on TikTok with the facial filter of your choice.
