This article explains how to become someone's "best friend" on Snapchat, the title that belongs to the users you interact with most often.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Send Photos and Video Snaps
Step 1. Open Snapchat
This is the app with the yellow icon and a white ghost. It will open on the camera screen.
Step 2. Press the shutter to take a photo
This is the large round button at the bottom of the screen. The camera will capture the image you see on the display.
- To take a video snap instead of sending a photo, press and hold the round button, up to a maximum of 10 seconds.
- You can switch between the front and rear cameras by pressing the button of the two arrows that form a rectangle, at the top right of the screen.
- You can press the icons at the top of the screen to add text, stickers, and designs to your snap.
- Swipe left or right to use the filters.
- If you don't like a snap, press the button X in the upper left corner, in order to delete it.
Step 3. Press the Send to arrow
You will find it in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 4. Press the contact you want to become Best Friends
A blue banner with an arrow will appear at the bottom of the screen.
Step 5. Press the white arrow Send
The snap will be sent to your future best friend.
Step 6. Send many more videos or photos to the same user
If you communicate with him more frequently than others, he will be placed on your Best Friends list. The likelihood of this happening is directly proportional to the number of snaps you send. Received messages also matter.
Step 7. Check the emoji status of your best friends
You can check their status by looking at the friends menu when you press the button Send to. The best friends list can be found at the top of the page, above Friends and Add Now. You should notice an emoji next to the names of your best friends.
- A yellow heart indicates a new BFF. If you haven't sent many snaps yet, this emoji means that you are a person's best friend and she is your best friend.
- A red heart indicates a BFF. You've been best friends for at least two weeks.
- Two pink hearts indicate a Super BFF. You have been best friends for at least two months.

Advice
- The best friends list can change every day, too, based on who you interact with. Check the list frequently to check for changes.
- If you already send a lot of snaps to a user, but aren't best friends yet, you need to increase your contact frequency even more. Write to him at least once a day for some time.
- If you see an emoji status next to a best friend's name, they'll see the same icon associated with you.
