Facebook can be used as a means of selling products. If you are already a regular user of the social network, Facebook can be convenient for selling items one-time or regularly. This article will discuss using Facebook's "Market Place" tool.
Steps
Step 1. Go to the Market Place
The Market Place allows you to sell, buy or give away whatever you want, doing it in a safe and fun environment. You can also use Market Place to see what your friends are buying and / or selling.
Step 2. List your products for sale
All Facebook users can place their own sales ads for free. To place an ad, follow these steps:
- On the main page of the Market Place, or on the price lists page, select the type of ad you want to insert. To do this, select one of the tabs - "Sell it", "Give it for free" or "Buy".
- Type your text in the box at the top of the page. From here, you can select the best category for your ad. Enter your location and better describe the product and add photos.
Step 3. Study the different types of announcements
Here is a list of possible announcements:
- "Sell it" is for creating ads for products you want to sell.
- "Give it for free" is for giving away products for free.
- "Buy" is to create an ad where you are looking for a product.
Step 4. Decide who you want to see your ad
By default, the ad will be visible to any Market Place user. But remember that just because your ad is visible doesn't mean your profile information is also visible. To hide the latter, you will need to change your Facebook privacy settings. Users not registered on Facebook will be able to see the ad but cannot reply to you, unless they register on Facebook.
Step 5. Add a product photo
While this is not a requirement, we recommend adding it. Users want to see what they are buying.
Step 6. View your price list
In Market Place, select "My Listings" at the top of the page. This will bring up a list of your ads, which you can easily edit, repost or close.
Step 7. Edit an advertisement
If you need to make changes, you can do it from here without any problems. From the "My Listings" page, click on "Edit" next to the listing you want to edit. This way you can edit it.
Step 8. Close an advertisement
If you want to take a vacation and stop selling over the weekend, you can safely close the ad. From the "My Listings" page, click on "Close my ad" next to the ad you want to delete. However, it is not possible to permanently cancel an advertisement. To keep the marketplace safe, the history of all user-created ads is made accessible.
Step 9. Search for an ad
To search for it by keyword, go to the "search" page by clicking on the "search" link at the top of each page. Enter a search term in the search field in the left column and press Enter. After that, you will be given the opportunity to also select a category and other search criteria, again from the column on the left.
Step 10. Scroll through the ads
From the main market Place page, click on any category in the "Browse" box. From the search page, click on any category in the left column.
Step 11. Respond to an ad
You can contact the ad creator by clicking on the "contact" button under the ad creator's photo. Alternatively, you can write on the ad page. The creator of the ad will be notified of your comment.
Step 12. Report an ad
You should report an ad when you believe it is spam or has been placed in the wrong category or contains nudity or pornography or drug use topics or is offensive to an individual or group of people or minority, contains copyrighted, violent content or obscene. For more details on Market Place's abuse policy, please have a look at Market Place's "Terms of Use" and "Prohibited Content" pages. You can report an ad by clicking on the "Report" button on each ad (on the search page, first click on "options" and then "report"). Once you click on "report", a pop-up window will appear asking you for more information. All reports are confidential. After you report an ad, it will be removed from your page. Your ad will be considered by our customer support team and we will make the appropriate decision. All advertisements are confidential.
