This article explains how to recreate a heart icon within the Facebook platform in several ways. You can send a heart to someone as a "reaction" to their post or comment, type it as an emoji in a text message, and select a heart-shaped theme as the background for any new post.

Method 1 of 3: Send a Heart As a Reaction to a Post or Comment
Step 1. Log in to Facebook from your computer, smartphone or tablet
You can visit the official website https://www.facebook.com using your computer browser or you can launch the mobile app.
Step 2. Find the post or comment you want to tag with your heart
You can use the heart emoji as a "reaction" to any comment or post.
In this way the number of hearts received by the post or comment in question will be automatically increased
Step 3. Place the mouse pointer on the Like button
It is visible within the frame of any post or comment. By clicking on the button in question, a pop-up window will be displayed with the list of all the available "reactions".
If you are using the mobile app, you will need to press and hold the button I like.
Step 4. Click on the heart-shaped icon visible inside the pop-up window that appears
This way the heart-shaped emoji will be sent as a "reaction" to the corresponding post or comment.
Method 2 of 3: Type a Heart Shaped Emoji
Step 1. Log into Facebook on your computer, smartphone or tablet
You can visit the official website https://www.facebook.com using your computer browser or you can launch the mobile app.
Step 2. Click or tap the text field where you want to insert the emoji
You can choose to create a new post in your diary or click any of the text fields that allow you to type in content, such as a comment.
Step 3. Type the characters <3 into the chosen text field
This way, when you publish your content, the two characters indicated will be automatically replaced by a red heart-shaped emoji.
Step 4. Click or tap the heart shaped emoji
The library of all heart icons available for use will be displayed.
- If you are using your computer browser, click on the smiley icon in the lower right corner of the text field.
- If you are using the mobile app, tap the emoji located in the lower corner of the virtual keyboard of the device.
Step 5. Find and select the emoji you want to type
In this way the chosen icon will be inserted in the text you are composing.

Method 3 of 3: Select a Theme for a Post
Step 1. Log in to Facebook from your computer, smartphone or tablet

Step 2. Click or tap the What are you thinking?
displayed at the top of the Home tab of your Facebook profile.
This way you can create a new post.
Step 3. Select the wallpaper with the heart theme
The icon that gives access to the list of available themes for the post background is located in the lower left corner of the text field where you can enter the content of the post. The selected theme will be used as the background of your content.
