This article explains how to find Telegram channels on an iPhone or iPad using a bot in the application itself or a directory found online. There is no official list or method to search for channels on Telegram, as all the bots and websites that list them are directories managed by third parties and not associated with the app itself.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using a Bot
Step 1. Open Telegram
The icon features a white airplane on a light blue background and is usually found on the main screen.
If the login is not automatic, log in with your mobile number
Step 2. Tap the search bar at the top of the screen
Step 3. Type tchannelsbot in the search bar
The results will be filtered as you write.
Step 4. Tap the "Telegram Channels Bot" result
If the terms are spelled correctly, it will be the first result. The username will appear under the title, which is "@tchannelsbot".
Step 5. Tap Get Started
It is located at the bottom of the screen.
If you don't see this option, you can type / start in the message bar at the bottom of the screen, then hit the enter arrow, located above the keyboard
Step 6. Tap an option
You can tap any of the buttons that appear, such as:
- Top: shows the most popular channels.
- Recent: shows a list of recently created channels.
- By category: Show all channel categories.
- Research: allows you to search for channels.
Step 7. Open a channel
Find a channel you want to join, then tap its associated link.
Step 8. Tap ＋ Join
It is located at the bottom of the canal. At this point you will have become a member of the channel.
Method 2 of 2: Using an Online Channel Directory
Step 1. Open a browser
You can use Safari, Google Chrome or any other browser installed on your device.
Step 2. Go to a directory of Telegram channels
On Google you can search for "Telegram channel list" or a similar phrase. Alternatively, visit the following websites:
- https://www.telegramitalia.it/.
- https://tlgrm.eu/channels.
Step 3. Search for a topic that interests you
Many directories feature categories such as video games, movies, television, and so on. Most websites offering Telegram channel lists also provide a search bar.
Step 4. Open the channel
Choose a channel, then:
- Tap Add to (https://www.telegramitalia.it/).
- Tap + (https://tlgrm.eu/channels).
Step 5. Tap + Join
It is located at the bottom of the canal. At this point you will have become a member of this channel.
