To silence the click on a Mac, simply follow these instructions: access the "Apple" menu, click on the "System Preferences" item, click on the "Trackpad" icon, click on the "Point and Click" tab, then select the check button "Silent click" (if present) or "Tap to click".
Steps
Step 1. Access the "Apple" menu by clicking on the appropriate icon
It features the Apple logo and is located in the upper left corner of the screen.
Step 2. Click on the System Preferences option
Step 3. Click the Trackpad icon
It is displayed in the center of the "System Preferences" window.
If all the icons in the "System Preferences" window are not displayed, click on the "Show All" button located in the top bar of the window. On new versions of macOS it features a grid of small squares
Step 4. Click on the Point and Click tab
It is displayed at the top of the window.
Step 5. Look for the "Silent Click" checkbox
If it is present, it should be located at the bottom left of the dialog box.
- If the "Silent Click" checkbox is not present, click the "Tap to Click" checkbox to enable silent clicking of the Mac trackpad.
- When the "Tap to Click" feature is on, you can click on icons by simply tapping the trackpad with your finger, just like you do on an iPhone or iPad, rather than pressing it. As a result, you will no longer hear the trackpad clicking when you click on an element of the Mac GUI.
Step 6. Select the "Silent Click" checkbox
Make sure there is a check mark inside the small blue square. At this point you have successfully activated your Mac's "Silent Click" mode.
