In the opinion of many professional hypnotists, the "Dave Elman" technique is the best. For some people it may seem difficult to learn, but in fact it is simple, and you will find a description below. The information contained in this guide is in the public domain, use it at your discretion.
Steps
Step 1. Hold two fingers (index and middle fingers) in a V shape
Hold your fingers 30 cm above the forehead of the person to be hypnotized and ask them to look up, focusing on your fingers without moving their head up. That way he should roll his eyes upward. Make sure your fingers are in a position within the person's field of vision.
Step 2. Ask the person to breathe as you move your hand up and down
It should inhale naturally as you move your hand upward; and exhale as you move it down. You could say "inhale, exhale" when moving your hand, repeating it at least 5 times before proceeding.
Step 3. Have the person close their eyes as you run your hand in front of their face
Repeat the request, repeating step 2 another 2 or 3 times, without creating a repetitive pattern.
Step 4. Suggest that the person relax their eyes as much as possible
Ask her to relax the muscles around her eyes to the point that her eyes will be so tired that she can't open them even if she wants to. 30 seconds after describing how relaxed their eyes are, ask the person to try opening them. He will find he cannot. After 5-10 seconds of trying, tell her "Now you can stop trying and relax".
Step 5. Order the person to close and open their eyes at your request
Once your eyes are closed, let the person know that you are going to send "a wave of relaxation for the whole body, which will become as relaxed as the eyes, doubling your state of relaxation".
Step 6. Ask the person to open their eyes to the count of three
You say: "one, two, three, open your eyes; then close them". Repeat the process three times, increasing relaxation each time (suggest that her relaxation increases exponentially each time).
Step 7. Tell the person that you will take their right hand
Tell her "at this point, if you have followed what I asked you to do, your hand should be loose and relaxed, like a rag" (or something similar) "and when I drop it into your lap, you will feel your body. that relaxes ".
Step 8. Do the same with your left hand
Step 9. Repeat the previous two steps
Step 10. Suggest that the person be in the greatest state of physical relaxation
Encourage her to focus on physical relaxation. Order her to start counting down at your command, starting from 100, following this pattern: "100, deeper relaxation; 99, deeper relaxation; 98, deeper relaxation", suggesting that after a few numbers, she will forget the next number. The person will notice that the numbers have disappeared from his mind, because he has reached a state of total relaxation.
Step 11. Ask her to start counting down
As she counts, suggest that the numbers are disappearing. When she stopped talking, ask her about all the numbers are gone. He might just nod slightly, and that's enough.
Step 12. Explain to the person the Basement of Relaxation technique
Let her know that just as it is possible to raise tension to the highest levels, the reverse is also true. Tell her "now it is necessary for us (notice the we which indicates that you are not ordering something) to reach the bottom of relaxation."
Step 13. Ask her to imagine she is in an elevator
Inform her that when you snap your fingers, the elevator will begin to descend to floor A, and that to reach it she will have to relax completely, twice as much as she is now. When you snap your fingers a second time, she will be completely relaxed, twice as much, all the way to plan B; and when you snap your fingers a third time, she will reach floor C. Tell her to let her know which floor she is on by saying the letter.
Step 14. Snap your fingers
Wait for it to say A; repeat with B and C. Often when you get to floor C the person will be barely able to speak. In this case, the hypnosis was successful (this does not mean that the opposite is true).
Step 15. At this point it is time to suggest a re-induction
Tell the person, "If I snap my fingers and say sleep, for the next 24 hours, you will find that you can immediately return to this wonderful state of relaxation and focus. In fact, every time I snap my fingers and say sleep, you will enter one. state of hypnosis deeper than the previous one ".
Step 16. To continue with hypnosis, use an image that will increase its depth
A good technique is to ask the person in the image to be at the top of a staircase with 100 steps, which he can see and hear under his feet. Beside each step there is a number. Each step he takes will allow him to relax more and more. At the end of the staircase there is a large mattress, and when you reach it you can lie down and relax.
Step 17. Ask the person to start going down
You can tell where she is by asking her what the step number is.
Step 18. Let the person know what is going on
He continues to suggest that he is "descending deeper and closer to the mattress; and relaxes more with each breath" as he descends the stairs.
Step 19. Repeat the reinduction suggested above
Step 20. The person has now reached the end of the stairs
Tell her that there are helium-filled balloons attached to her wrist, and that she can feel them being lifted into the air. You should see the person's hands and arms go up.
Step 21. Repeat the reinduction suggested above
Step 22. Advise the person that on the count of three they will be fully awake
Count to three. When the person is awake, they start talking about something different for a few minutes before asking what they remember. Try re-induction, and if it returns to a state of hypnosis, move on. If that doesn't happen, this method didn't work.
Step 23. You can now make suggestions to the person
Tell her that she is feeling hot (perhaps imagining she is on a beach) and then cold; ask her to imagine watching a movie, very funny at first, then scary. Then ask her to open her eyes and remain in a state of hypnosis. You should notice that the person is able to walk and talk under hypnosis. If he wakes up and opens his eyes, he'll probably tell you that hypnosis "didn't work." Try re-induction and suggest to the person that they will wake up when you tell them. If he doesn't, he may be staring into space. Keep making other suggestions without always having to resort to re-induction.
Step 24. When you are done, get the person out of hypnosis
Tell her "to my three you will wake up, fully alert and alert, you will feel great and all hints will be removed". You might also suggest "you will remember everything you did" or "you will not remember anything that happened under hypnosis". Then count to three.
Step 25. The person may feel "confused" after hypnosis
This does not mean that he is still in a state of hypnosis, but he may still be suggestible for some time.
Advice
- The person may not remember what happened, so you may want to record the session to show the person what they did during hypnosis.
- Align the rhythm of what you are saying with the person's breath. For example, it is better to tell her to relax when she exhales rather than when she inhales.
- If someone doesn't do what you suggested, they have a moral or defensive reason blocking them, or they didn't understand what you asked for. Try to suggest it again, clearly, before giving up on the idea.
- Notice the difference between post-hypnotic suggestion and day-hypnosis. A suggestion is something that has an effect, such as a habit, at the end of hypnosis (for example, feeling an itch or saying or doing something following a command). Hypnosis with open eyes, on the other hand, means that the suggestion can be changed at will, because the person is still in a state of hypnosis.
- Read the passages a few times, take notes, and practice on imaginary people to familiarize yourself with the procedure.
Warnings
- Do not suggest anything related to a phobia of the person. If someone has a spider phobia, don't tell them to imagine that there are hundreds of spiders in the room.
- Don't try to regress people to their childhood. If you think it's helpful, tell them to "act like they're ten" Some people have repressed memories that you shouldn't re-emerge (abuse, bullying, etc.). They repressed these memories as a natural defense, not to let them affect their mental health. Unfortunately, these people are often very predisposed to hypnosis.
- Hypnosis is not a new-age technique and has nothing to do with the occult. Hypnosis is a scientific process and not a magic one.
- Don't try to psychoanalyze the person and don't try to cure his phobias. You probably don't know how, so don't try.
- This is probably the most important section, because hypnosis is like fire. It's very dangerous if you don't use common sense, so don't try to do things you shouldn't.
- Don't ask the person to do something you don't want to do yourself.
- Do not suggest anything that goes against the morals or principles of the person, because that person will wake up. If you want to try such a thing, first talk to the person you want to hypnotize.
