Oh no! You just discovered that there is a key stuck in your keyboard. What to do? Relax - just read this article and you will be able to make it work without any problem!
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Compressed Air
Step 1. Get a can of compressed air
They are usually sold in office supply stores.
Step 2. Open the cap
(There is usually one that is used to prevent compressed air from leaking before use.)
Step 3. Follow the instructions in the can
Spray it underneath the key or keys that are stuck until they loosen a little. It is best to let them dry thoroughly before using the keyboard again.
Method 2 of 3: Knife
Step 1. Get a fret that's not too sharp (a butter fret, for example)
Use it to remove what is blocking the key from underneath the key. Usually it is crumbs or something.
Be careful not to break the fret - try to work very gently
Method 3 of 3: Cotton buds
Step 1. Buy cotton swabs at a drugstore or supermarket
Also buy compressed air.
Step 2. Spray some compressed air on the cotton swab
Step 3. Scrub the keyboard
Use a damp but not wet cloth. Remove all kinds of dirt and stickiness as possible.
Step 4. Now focus on the stuck keys
Gently wipe the cotton swab under the stuck keys. Try raising them slightly to be able to move them again.
Step 5. Spray with compressed air again any areas that you cannot reach with the cotton swab
You may need to alternately use the cotton swab and compressed air.
