This article explains how to use the Samsung Smart View app on an iOS device (iPhone or iPad) to stream media content to a Samsung Smart TV. The Smart View app allows you to launch an app installed on the TV, stream multimedia content on an iPhone or iPad and use an iOS device as if it were the TV remote control.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Configure the Smart View App
Step 1. Connect the iOS device to the same Wi-Fi network that the Samsung TV is connected to
In order for the Smart View app to detect your TV, the iOS device on which it is installed must be connected to the same wireless LAN network to which the Samsung Smart TV is connected.

Step 2. Install the Smart View app on your device
It features a television-shaped icon with four curved lines at the bottom. Download and install the program by following these instructions:

Login to App Store

- Select the tab Search for;
- Type samsung smart view keywords into the search bar;
- Select the application Samsung Smart View;
- Push the button Get.
Step 3. Launch the Smart View app
You can do this by selecting the program icon on the device Home or by pressing the "Open" button displayed on the App Store page dedicated to the app that appeared at the end of the installation. The Smart View application will scan the network for all Samsung TVs present.
Step 4. Select your Samsung Smart TV
The Smart View app will show the list of all Samsung TVs connected to the same wireless network that your iOS device is connected to.
Press the "Allow" button if required to allow the Smart View app to have access to the hardware resources and data on the device (for example images and videos). This is a necessary step to be able to connect the iPhone or iPad to the TV and stream multimedia content
Step 5. Select the TV you want to connect to if needed
The Smart View app may be able to automatically establish the connection, but if there are multiple Samsung TVs on the LAN, you will need to select the name of the one to connect to. Follow the instructions on the TV screen to complete the connection.
Step 6. Select the Allow option that appeared on the TV
It is displayed at the top of the screen. Use the appliance remote control to select the "Allow" button when prompted. This will activate the Smart View feature of the TV allowing you to establish a connection with your iOS device.
Step 7. Select one of the apps installed on the TV using the iPhone or iPad
After successful connection, the full list of all apps on the TV will be displayed on the screen of the iOS device. To start one, simply tap on the corresponding icon. Each app may provide you with additional options that you can control directly with your iOS device.
Step 8. Tap the remote control icon in the lower right corner of the iOS device screen
This way you can use the device directly as if it were the remote control of your Samsung TV.
Part 2 of 3: Viewing the Media Contents Present on the iPhone
Step 1. From the Smart View app screen, swipe left through the list of apps installed on the TV displayed at the top of the screen until you reach the right edge of the list
Step 2. Choose one of the following options displayed at the top of the iOS device screen:
My Photos, My Videos or My Music. You'll see the full list of photos, videos and music tracks that you can play directly on your Samsung TV.
Step 3. Select an image, video or song
Tap the preview icon of the content you want to see on the TV screen (photo, video or music). Playback will start automatically.
Step 4. Tap the "Back" button to return to the main menu
It features a curved "U" shaped arrow and is located in the upper right corner of the Smart View app interface.
Alternatively, you can tap the remote control icon to control the features of the TV using your iOS device as a remote control
Part 3 of 3: Streaming from a Media App
Step 1. Launch the iOS device app from which you want to cast content to your Samsung Smart TV
If your chosen program provides the ability to stream content, such as a photo or video, you can use your Samsung TV as the target device. Apps like YouTube, Hulu or Netflix, for example, allow you to stream content to a Smart TV.
Step 2. Tap the app icon to activate data transmission
It is characterized by a small rectangle with the Wi-Fi connection symbol in the lower left corner. In most cases it is located in the upper right corner of the screen. A pop-up window will appear showing the list of all the devices on the network to which you can stream.
Step 3. Select your Samsung Smart TV from the appeared list
The application in use will connect the smartphone or tablet to the selected TV.
Step 4. Choose the content you want to play
Select the music or video you want to stream on the TV screen. For example if you are using the YouTube app, when you start playing a video, the images will be displayed directly on the TV screen and not on that of the iOS device. Use the controls found directly in your app's interface to control the playback of images on your TV.
