We all know how to make a ninja hood, but could you make an entire outfit out of a simple set of t-shirts? Here's how it's done! After following these steps, you will be ready to unleash all your ninja moves; but only against those who deserve it.
Steps
Method 1 of 6: The Headband
Step 1. Take a t-shirt and lay it out on a flat surface
Choose one that fits your size, as in all likelihood, you may have trouble wrapping a shirt that is too small around your head.
Step 2. Fold it up and along the horizontal side
Start from the underside of the shirt and work your way up. Keep folding it until you get a kind of thick, wide band.
Step 3. Tie the sleeves together
There is no problem if they are visible; they will still be hidden by the hood.
Method 2 of 6: The Belt
Step 1. Get another t-shirt
Do exactly the same thing you did for the headband but don't wrap it around your head. Simply fold it back into a band of fabric. The height of the belt should depend on your size. In general, it should fit a little higher than the palm of your hand.
Step 2. Bring the sleeves back, towards the back
The middle part of the shirt should rest on the abdomen and should be quite taut. If it isn't, then you'd better try a smaller shirt, to avoid ending up with a giant knot on your back.
Step 3. Tie the sleeves behind the back
Slip the remaining loose ends into the belt. There should be a slight swelling on the back, but it shouldn't be too visible. If you see the neckline of the t-shirt, hide it; he might be sick.
Method 3 of 6: The Top Part of the Suit
Step 1. Take another t-shirt and wear it normally
Tuck in the sleeves so that the shirt looks without them. Fold them neatly, avoiding rolling them up or forming irregular folds. Cutting them directly could give an asymmetrical result, unless you are really skilled with needle and thread; therefore, ultimately, it is best to simply fold them in.
Step 2. Take the bottom of the shirt and slide it over your head
Don't take it off! Just make sure it stays behind your neck while still keeping your arms tucked into the sleeves (or rather, what the sleeves are supposed to be). You should have obtained an unusual garment suitable for covering the shoulders.
Make sure the t-shirt is loose enough so that your arms aren't too restricted in movement
Method 4 of 6: the Hood
Step 1. Wear a long-sleeved t-shirt, but only partially; stop at the level of the ears and nose
In other words, the choker should remain on the line of the nose and ears.
Step 2. Bring the back of the t-shirt to your forehead
It is also okay if the hairline remains uncovered; that is why you previously made a headband. Adjust it so that it goes slightly past your brows, without pinching too much.
Step 3. Take the sleeves and tie them behind the head
You can just as well leave them dangling or slip them under the shirt that surrounds your arms.
Method 5 of 6: The Leg Protectors
Step 1. Take another shirt and put it on your thigh
The crewneck should remain facing towards the torso and with the seam folded in so that the band looks neater.
You don't have to put your thigh in the t-shirt! The t-shirt simply wraps around the thigh
Step 2. Take the sleeves and wrap the t-shirt around the thigh
Knot the sleeves at the back of the thigh and fold the knot back in.
Finally, secure the ends of the shirt behind the leg. Keep both knots and loose parts hidden. Perform the operation for both legs
Step 3. Take another t-shirt and do the same for the shins
Repeat the operation for the arms and forearms (in this case you may need help to put on the protectors). Of course, you could also wear a simple long-sleeved shirt and the result would still be good, but adding more layers makes the ninja suit much more convincing.
The most is done. Now all you have to do is decide whether to fight for a just cause or not
Method 6 of 6: Final Assembly
Step 1. Put on the costume base
This consists of a shirt and a pair of sweatpants on which to graft the remaining parts of the suit. Choose a single color for the entire costume. There are also white ninjas.
Suitable colors can be black, dark blue, red and white. Pink ninjas aren't very credible, of course
Step 2. Layer the swimsuit top, leg protectors and hood
If anyone can help you put on arm protectors, put those on too.
After assembling all these parts, wrap the headband around your head. Adjust everything so that it stays in good order
Step 3. Add your favorite accessories to the costume
This could be a sword, ninja stars, booties or gloves. Be creative! You are the ninja; who knows better than you what is necessary? Ninjas make no mistakes. If someone tries to question the quality of your disguise just because you are wearing a pair of Doc Martens, you will immediately have the opportunity to make good use of their iron tip.
Advice
- Use only one color, unless you want the base of the suit in one color and the shirts in another.
- Make sure to fold in the protruding ends of the fabric. If a sleeve just doesn't want it to stay in place, help yourself with a safety pin.
Warnings
- Be careful not to tighten the shirts too much; it could prevent blood circulation.
- A ninja costume made out of t-shirts doesn't make you a full-fledged ninja and, unfortunately, offers very little protection in combat. Be cautious !!!
