If to read an e-mail received on your Mac using the Mail program, you have to strain your poor eyes a lot because the font used is really too small, here is a solution to your problems. By following the steps in this tutorial you will be able to change the font size used by the Mail program making it extremely easy to read your email.
Steps
Step 1. Launch the Mail program on your Mac
To do this, select the relevant icon on the dock that you find at the bottom of the desktop. Alternatively, access the 'Applications' folder in the Finder window.
Step 2. Access the Mail configuration options
Select the 'Mail' menu located in the upper left corner of the window. A drop-down menu will appear.
Step 3. Access the settings panel
To do this, select the 'Preferences…' item in the 'Mail' menu.
Step 4. Go to the 'Fonts and Colors' tab
To do this, select the 'Fonts and Colors' icon located at the top of the 'Preferences' panel.
Step 5. Set the font size
- Increase the text size of messages in Mail. Click the "Select" button next to "Message font", then select the size of the selected font in the window;
- Increase the text size of incoming messages. Click the "Select" button next to "Message list font", then choose the size of the selected font;
Step 6. Save the new settings
Press the 'Save' button and return to the main Mail program screen. You will notice that emails are now displayed with the new font settings.
Advice
- Changes made to the style and to the default font size do not affect the formatting of text (underline, italics, bold, etc.) within email messages.
- When you print your email messages, the printed version will also follow the text settings used by the Mail program.
- Using this procedure, in addition to being able to change the size and style of the characters, you can also change their color.
