This is a simple guide for beginners as well as veterans. Includes the basics of the sport and some custom variations.
Steps
Step 1. Bunnyhop (ollie, jayhop, etc
). This is the basis of all scooter tricks. To do this, you have to pull the handlebars upwards and lift your feet: consequently the wheels will rise from the ground (in practice, jump with the scooter).
Step 2. Hippy Jump
It is a simple stunt that anyone can do. You just have to jump off the platform leaving the wheels on the ground. Variation: You can also change your position by turning around, doing an Airwalk or even a Rodeo (with one hand on the handlebars).
Step 3. X-Up
To do an X-Up, you must first jump into an ollie, rotate the handlebar 90 degrees while in midair and put it back straight before landing.
Step 4. Manual
Again this is a simple maneuver. Lean back and balance on the rear wheel.
Step 5. Nose Manual (Endo)
You must do a Manual, but lean forward while balancing on the front wheel.
Step 6. Pogo
It is a bit tricky for beginners, but all you have to do is hold the brakes and hop on the rear wheel.
Step 7. No Foot
Do an ollie and lift both feet off the platform. As with the Hippy Jump you can continue the evolution with an Airwalk, Rodeo, etc.
Step 8. Kick-Out
Do an Ollie, kick the plate to the side with both feet at 45 degrees. Remember to straighten up before landing.
Step 9. Grind
It is very simple but it is just as easy to get it wrong. You just have to do an ollie and rotate the platform 90 ° landing on a railing. Slip for as long as you can and close the Ollie.
Step 10. Barspin
It is difficult to learn but it can help you make other combinations.
Step 11. Tailwhip
As with the Barspin this is not a simple trick, but it opens the door to other evolutions.
Advice
- Always train. One of the worst and most common mistakes is believing that you can do things instantly, without practice. Don't worry if some tricks fail you at first. Be constant, sooner or later you will make it.
- Practice as much as possible.
- Go to your municipality's skate park and try out various stunts or experiment with new ones.
- Be confident, always.
- Remember to always be safe!
- Always wear a helmet.
Warnings
- Do not use the scooter on wet surfaces. The wheels get very slippery and the brakes don't work.
- Although they are not considered "cool", protections (especially the helmet) are highly recommended. In the event of a fall, it is always best to be on the safe side.
- Always be careful.
