You're bored? Here's an idea - shoot a funny video! But there is a problem: you don't have ideas that are funny. Read the following and you will have a lot of fun with your friends. Some people think pain is fun. Others that shrill voices are funny. Some think scary things are fun. Everyone has a different definition of fun, but making a video for everyone is impossible. You can't make everyone who watches your video laugh, but you can at least try to do something that is fun for someone!
Steps
Step 1. Create your crew and cast for your video
You will need a cameraman, actors, director and writer. Actors should be people who are familiar with the comic genre, or people who like to joke and have fun.
Step 2. Brainstorm ideas
Get everyone involved and exchange ideas by giving opinions. When you think you are satisfied, move on to the next step.
Step 3. Watch comedy movies you enjoy together
Look for inspiration in their ideas and scripts. Don't copy them, but learn what works and what doesn't, and pay attention to the rhythm.
Step 4. Choose the location for your video
Depending on the script, you can use simple places like your living room, kitchen, or hallway. But if your script is very detailed and requires more complex scenes, you may want to choose more atmospheric places like a park, your city's financial area, or a place with a nice view.
Step 5. Write the script
Anyone who can write and who are comfortable with comedy can contribute. Have other people read the script for suggestions and improvements.
Step 6. Be prepared to change parts of the script while shooting
While the script will remain the basis, the actors may add a few more touches or some new, funny lines and other ways to make the video even more fun and you will need to be ready to insert them while filming.
Step 7. Prepare to allow the actors to improvise and insert these scenes into your video
Many of the funniest scenes will be the result of improvisation.
Step 8. Try to remember funny incidents that happened in the past
If it was fun then, it still will be. But if you have to be part of a group of friends, for example, to find it funny, maybe that's not the best of ideas. So if you've found something that works, try tweaking it to fit the script.
Step 9. Start shooting
Lights, camera, and….. ACTION! Make sure there is a good director who can keep pace with the lines and direct the actors so they don't get lost in giggles and dead-end dialogue.
Step 10. After shooting, edit the video
You can use a simple program, or buy editing software like iMovie or Windows Movie Maker.
Some scenes or dialogue may not be funny enough, even if someone laughed for hours during the shoot. Get ready to carefully cut and edit scenes, trying to find the one that might make the audience laugh
Step 11. Share your video
If you want your video to be seen by a large audience, post it on a site like YouTube. Check the site often to see if it has become a hit.
Advice
- Don't laugh while filming! Jokes can be funny, but background laughter can make you sound unprofessional. Try to act seriously throughout the video. Even if it is something stupid, act seriously and make it sound true, as if you truly believe what you are saying, no matter how stupid the jokes are. Download, releasing your laughter before filming.
- Inspired by other comedy films, but don't copy. Watching copied material can be disappointing for the audience and won't make anyone laugh
- Everything looks more fun when viewed through the lens of a camcorder, even if yours doesn't work well.
- Singing a song can make the video more fun.
- Make sure everyone is happy with their work. If an actor doesn't fit into the character well (especially because they don't like him), he'll come out on screen, and could ruin the video.
- Use props, sound effects, photos, props, etc. to enhance your video.
- Consider Windows Movie Maker for editing your video.
