Whether you want to impress someone or have a busy morning ahead of you, it would be nice to wake up and instantly look radiant. It might seem like a daunting task considering you didn't take care of your hair, breath and skin for eight hours. While it is not possible to get out of bed and leave the house immediately, you can still make sure that you look the best possible. Here are some tips, read on.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Getting Ready Before Going to Sleep
Step 1. Wash your face before sleep
Rinse it with warm water to help open skin pores and prepare the skin for cleansing. With your index and middle fingertips, massage the facial cleanser into your skin in circular motions.
- Use an exfoliating facial product to remove dead skin cells for healthier, brighter-looking skin in the morning.
- Rinse your skin with cold water to remove the cleanser and help close pores. Then gently pat your face with a towel to prevent the skin from drying out.
Step 2. Never go to bed wearing makeup
Overnight makeup would otherwise tend to smudge and cause pores to clog, giving you a dull complexion in the morning. Remove makeup using a mild makeup remover, then use a common facial cleanser to remove any additional makeup residue. When you wake up you will look fresher and more natural.
- Make sure you remove all traces of mascara from your lashes.
- Pay special attention to the T-zone of the face: chin, nose and forehead. Normally these areas are the ones that tend to be oiliest, so it is important to clean them thoroughly by removing even the smallest traces of makeup.
Step 3. Brush your teeth before bed
Otherwise, the next morning you risk having unpleasant teeth and breath both to the eye and to the smell. For an ideal result, also consider using a good mouthwash and dental floss.
Step 4. Moisturize the skin
You definitely don't want your face to be dry and cracked when you wake up. After washing it, apply a nourishing cream so that the skin can stay hydrated throughout the night.
- Use a specially formulated moisturizer to apply before bedtime.
- Before placing your face on the pillow, make sure that the cream has been completely absorbed into the skin to prevent it from coming off.
Step 5. Moisturize your lips
People often tend to wake up with chapped lips due to dehydration. To prevent this, apply nourishing lip balm before and after sleep. If your lips tend to be very dry, exfoliate them with a gentle scrub before bed and then apply lip balm.
Step 6. Drink a glass of water
To stay glowing and healthy, the skin needs water. Drinking before going to sleep means taking advantage of the last chance to hydrate it while waiting for the next one that will arrive after many hours. In the last hours of the day, make an effort to drink a glass or two of water to promote the beauty of your skin.
Step 7. Get enough sleep
If you don't allow your body to rest, you risk causing unsightly dark circles and bags in your eyes, which will make you look tired even when you wake up. Try to get at least 6-8 hours of sleep per night.
Part 2 of 3: Hair Care
Step 1. Brush your hair thoroughly before going to bed
Going to bed with tousled hair means waking up in an even worse situation. Simply run the comb or brush through your hair to get rid of any knots.
Step 2. Don't go to bed with wet hair
If you are in the habit of taking an evening shower, do not go to sleep until they are completely dry. You can choose to blow dry them or let them dry naturally. This will keep you from waking up with a mountain of unruly hair the next morning.
Step 3. Gather your hair into a soft braid
This will allow you to prevent the formation of any unruly locks, giving you completely natural-looking waves. To avoid damaging or pulling out your hair while you sleep, make sure you don't braid it too tightly.
Step 4. Try to pull them up in a soft bun
If you want to keep them from tangling or messing up overnight, try tying your hair up in a soft bun. As soon as you wake up you can untie it and take advantage of the elegant look that will result.
Step 5. Use a silk or satin pillowcase
This partially reduces the friction between the pillow and your hair, helping you protect them from damage and preventing an awakening accompanied by a weird and messy look.
Part 3 of 3: Morning Beauty Routine
Step 1. Attenuates dark circles
If you wake up with bags under your eyes, place two slices of cucumber over your eyes and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Cucumber has lightening and revitalizing properties.
Step 2. Treat puffy eyes with a cold compress
If you wake up with puffy eyes, place a spoon or a cold cloth on the side for a few minutes. The cold will reduce eye inflammation almost instantly.
Place a spoon / cloth in the refrigerator before going to bed so it is ready to use the next morning
Step 3. Clean your face if you tend to drool during sleep
If you happen to wake up with traces of drool around your mouth, keep some tissues and a glass of water on your nightstand. This way you can clean your face as soon as you wake up.
Some people tend to drool due to some allergy that blocks the nasal passages and therefore they are forced to breathe through the mouth. A medication or nasal spray can help keep your airways open, allowing you to sleep with your mouth closed and consequently limit saliva production
Step 4. Clean your eyes
Unfortunately, while you sleep you cannot keep all of your bodily functions under control. If you wake up bleary-eyed, keep some tissues and water next to your bed so you can clean them up quickly.
Step 5. Wash your face immediately after waking up
Proper skin cleansing will allow you to purify its pores for the start of the new day, giving you a healthy and radiant appearance. If you want, you can also apply a highlighter serum to instantly achieve a more radiant and vibrant look.
