A sick child can make you very sad. Doing what you can to keep your child healthy helps everyone be happy!
Steps
Step 1. Make sure your baby gets enough sleep
Babies need about 10 hours of sleep per night. The very young ones also need to take naps during the day. Make bedtime special by building a routine that includes bathing, brushing your teeth, putting on your pajamas, and reading a story. Choose relaxing or cheerful stories and avoid scary tales.
Step 2. Ensure adequate nutrition, with plenty of nutritious foods and healthy drinks every day
You can educate your child to develop good eating habits as he will tend to imitate you and eat what you eat. Also, get help with preparing meals as much as possible. It is a way to share educational and quality time.
Step 3. Minimize junk foods
The cake at a birthday party is fine, but cakes and ice cream every day is not. Unnecessary calories in sodas and fatty foods promote obesity, which causes a lot of health problems.
Step 4. Children should play outdoors every day if possible
Step 5. Get your child to get plenty of exercise
Enroll him in a team sport, karate, gymnastics or a swimming team to ensure regular physical activity.
Step 6. Set a time limit for him to be at the computer, in front of the TV, playing online games or on his cell phone
If you are unable to enforce these rules, consider purchasing a timer to apply to the software, or search the internet for some sites where you can download them.
Step 7. Keep your child away from smokers
Secondhand smoke can worsen asthma and cause other breathing problems.
Step 8. Encourage good personal habits
Make sure your child always washed their hands after using the bathroom, before eating, before helping you in the kitchen, and after cleaning their nose. Teach him how to blow his nose into a handkerchief and cough in the crook of the elbow, instead of coughing freely in the air. These measures can protect those around him more than protect himself, but perhaps his good habits will spread among his peers.
Step 9. Properly clean and bandage cuts and scrapes as they occur to prevent infection
Step 10. Have him see a doctor for an annual checkup and get him vaccinated
Step 11. If he is sick do not send him to school
You should avoid exposing yourself to friends who have a contagious disease.
Step 12. Minimize unnecessary stress
Take some time each day to be with your baby so that he feels comfortable and lets you know his thoughts and ideas.
Step 13. Protect him from dangers inside the house, such as unsafe cleaning products, medicines, the pool, sharp tools, and unsafe furnishings
Step 14. Teach your child all safety measures under all circumstances
For example, teach him to cross the street correctly.
