Most shipping companies offer direct tracking of the shipped item. When you purchase a shipment that includes tracking, you will be given a unique number that you can use to track your package online, by message or by phone. You can also request a shipment identification number from an online seller if they use any of the major companies.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Obtain a USPS Tracking Number
Step 1. Send the package with a shipment that includes tracking
With USPS, the following shipment types include the shipment identification number: Certified Mail, Collect on Delivery, Global Express Guaranteed, Priority Mail, Registered Mail, Signature Confirmation, and UPS Tracking. If you are purchasing a product online, make sure one of these services is included in the shipping information.
USPS First Class Mail, Media Mail, and Parcel Post offers do not include tracking. In some cases, you can add USPS tracking to postal products when purchasing the shipment
Step 2. Keep your receipt
It will include the shipment identification number. Ask the post office clerk to mark the tracking number on the receipt.
Step 3. Wait a few hours up to a maximum of one business day for the tracking number to be recorded
Step 4. Email the company you placed your order with online if you don't receive a shipping confirmation with your tracking number
If you have chosen Priority Mail or any of the other postal products listed above, they should have a tracking number to give you.
Step 5. Go to tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirm and enter the tracking number from your receipt or confirmation email
Press the "Find" button to track your package.
Step 6. Send (from the United States) the shipment identification number via text message to “28777” to get an update message on the delivery status
Method 2 of 4: Obtain a FedEx Tracking Number
Step 1. Purchase any FedEx shipment to receive a tracking number
FedEx includes Express, Ground, Home Delivery, Freight, Office Orders and Custom Critical shipment identification numbers; which means that practically all of their shipping services are traceable through this method.
Step 2. Find the tracking number on your receipt or confirmation email
You can also track the package using your shipment reference codes, which can be found on the receipt, on the ticket left on the door or in the confirmation email.
Step 3. Wait approximately one day for the tracking information to be available
Step 4. Go to www.fedex.com/apps/fedextrack/?action=track&cntry_code=it to track your shipment by tracking number or tracking number
Step 5. Call toll-free 800 123 800 to track your shipment over the phone, or get the tracking number from the tracking information available to you
If you are able to provide the essential reference information required, the operator should be able to locate and communicate the shipment identification number to you.
Method 3 of 4: Obtain a UPS Tracking Number
Step 1. Purchase any UPS shipping service and you will receive a shipping number
If you buy an item on the internet, choosing a shipment with UPS will ensure the traceability of your package for the duration of the shipment, by you and the seller.
Step 2. Keep your receipt or confirmation email to find the tracking number
If you have purchased an item that is shipped via UPS, you will usually receive shipping confirmation with a tracking email. In some cases, you may need to call or email the retailer to get the tracking number.
Step 3. Consider creating a customer number for easier tracking if you are purchasing shipping services from UPS
You can create a 35-character customer code that can be used multiple times for tracking.
Step 4. Go to www.ups.com/WebTracking/track?loc=it_IT&WT.svl=PNRO_L1 the day after your package is sent to track the delivery status
Step 5. Email totaltrack @ ups
com with the tracking number to track the package by email.
Method 4 of 4: Obtain a DHL Tracking Number
Step 1. Purchase any DHL shipping product
Step 2. Keep your shipment identification number
This is the copy of the original shipping receipt you used to ship the item. If you have purchased an item, ask the retailer for the identification number.
Step 3. Enter your phone number when purchasing an item online that will use DHL shipping services
Most DHL shipments send SMS messages to the number indicated when there are 1-2 days left for delivery. The retailer will add this number at the time of shipment.
Step 4. Email your tracking number to track @ dhl
com to obtain information and track the delivery status of your shipment.
Step 5. Send a message to +44 7720 33 44 55 with the shipment identification code to receive SMS delivery status updates
The rates for sending text messages abroad (European Union) will be applied.
