All cars are equipped with badges bearing the names of the brand or dealership. Tired of these annoying symbols? Some are screwed on and need professional intervention to remove them, many are actually glued with an adhesive substance. In this article we will show you how to remove them easily.
Steps
Step 1. Wash the area around the emblem with warm soapy water
This optional operation will prepare the area for the operation.
Step 2. Use a hair dryer to warm the emblem or decide to remove it on a hot day
Heat it sufficiently so that it is warm to the touch, this way the glue will melt.
Step 3. Keep it warm, use your fingers to slowly peel off the adhesive
Step 4. If this is not enough to peel the adhesive, try one of the following options:
- Spray a specific tar remover or WD-40 (multi-purpose lubricant) on and around the badge.
- Use a plastic putty knife, fork, floss or fishing floss to wrap around the badge and pull it out, slowly trying to peel off the glue that holds the badge attached to the car.
Step 5. Continue slowly until the emblem is completely removed
Step 6. Once removed, wipe off the remaining glue with a specific product, such as Goo Gone, 3M Adhesive Remover or WD-40
Once finished, wax, for an optimal result.
