This article explains how to create your own Telegram channel using an Android mobile device.
Steps
Step 1. Launch the Telegram app
It features a blue icon with a white paper airplane inside. Normally it is placed directly on the Home of the device or in the "Applications" panel.
Step 2. Press the ☰ button
It is located in the upper left corner of the screen.
Step 3. Select the New Channel item
Step 4. Choose the Create a Channel option
Step 5. Name the new channel by typing it in the "Channel Name" text field
Step 6. Enter a description of the channel
Summarize the channel identity for all possible participants in a clear way. This step is optional.
Step 7. Tap the check mark button
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 8. Choose the privacy level
If you want other users to be able to locate your Telegram channel via the search function, choose the option Public. If, on the other hand, you want only the people you invite to be able to view the channel, select the item Private.
If you have chosen to create a channel Private, a URL will appear in the "Invitation Link" section. Select it to copy it to the clipboard and be able to share it with whoever you want.
Step 9. Press the check mark button located in the upper right corner of the screen
Step 10. Choose the contacts to add to the newly created channel
Tap the name or phone number of all the contacts you want to include in the list of people to invite.
You can directly add up to 200 users to a channel. Once this limit is reached, only the members you invited will be able to invite other people
Step 11. Press the check mark button
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen. At this point the channel is active and all the people you have chosen will be part of it. To access the channel, select the corresponding name from the main screen of the Telegram app.
Step 12. Share your channel with other people
There are two ways to do this:
- Using the Telegram app directly by typing the @channel_name tag in a chat or message. Users will be able to select it to view the channel description and become a member (if allowed).
- To share a channel outside the Telegram app (for example on another social network or on a web page), use the URL t.me/channel_name.
