Over time, the dog has always been the pet symbol par excellence of faithful and unconditional love. We often try to describe our companion in adventures using words and gestures, but a dog's face can adopt many expressions that in order to give the idea well, the best thing is often to use a drawing. However, capturing the features of our dog through a drawing can be quite complicated; in this article we will show you how!
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Detailed drawing
Step 1. Draw a circular shape with a pair of drooping ears
Add a vertical and a horizontal line inside the circle: they will serve as a reference.
Step 2. Draw the nose
Draw a heart inside out and, inside it, a triangular shape with two carved holes.
Step 3. Draw the eyes
Remember to make them shiny by drawing wavy lines inside the pupils.
Step 4. Trace the small details such as the circles inside the nose and the small lines of the eyebrows and ears
Step 5. Draw the front legs with four triangular shapes on the right and left side of the dog's muzzle
Step 6. Now trace the details of the legs
Step 7. Outline your design
Use a black pen or marker to go over the drawing. After that, erase any pencil traces that are left, including the central guidelines.
Step 8. Color the drawing with shades of gray, dark gray, black or brown
Method 2 of 2: Schematic drawing
Step 1. Draw the figure of an armless stick man in the center of your paper
Step 2. Draw three points on each side of the figure
Step 3. Draw a circle around the newly created stick figure, making sure neither the figure nor the points touch the circle
Step 4. Create the eyes with two semicircles starting at the top of the main circle, making sure they are very close together but not touching
Create two half circles attached to the top of the main circle.
Step 5. Now draw a semicircle around the eyes, which will represent the rest of the muzzle
Step 6. Add two small dots in the center of the eyes to create the pupils
Step 7. Draw pointy or drooping ears as you like
Step 8. Don't forget your tongue and bow on your head

There are some anecdotes that can help even a child to make a schematic drawing of the second type to draw the second type of muzzle:
-
Once upon a time there was a little man (initial figure) who had six children (three on each side). Children often went to the park to play (circle). They had two rooms facing the park (eyes with pupils). To get from their house to the park they had to walk a little (semicircle) and there was a river on both sides (ears).
There was a man who had no arms (initial figure) and for this he cried a lot (lateral dots). To cheer himself up he went to the rides on the Ferris wheel (circle), entered two enchanted houses (eyes) and bought two candy floss (pupils). After that, he went up a hill (head) and bought two sausages (ears) at a kiosk
- Once upon a time there was a man (initial figure) who was chased by wasps (dots) and to escape them he jumped into a lake (circle). When he came out, he saw two caves (eyes and pupils) on the side of a hill (semicircle) with two waterfalls coming out of the sides (ears).
- There was a man with no arms (nose) who fell into a puddle (snout circle). It started raining (mustache dots). He ran up a hill (head) and went to McDonald's (eyes) to order two burgers (pupils) and fries (ears). After that he was happy (tongue).
- There was a man (nose) who was so much clumsy that he cried for everything that hurt (dots). Once, he cried so much that he made a lake (circle)! Then his dog and cat died, so he made two graves (eyes) and the words of the tombstones were all written very close together (pupils). Then, he went up the hill (semicircle) and slid down with a sled first on one side and then on the other (ears).
- There was a man (nose) who had 6 children (dots) so he bought them a swimming pool (snout). The pool, however, was leaking water (tongue) so all together went away and climbed the mountains (eyes) and even higher (head). When rocks (ears) began to fall, they all moved together inside the caves (pupils).
