Controlling pain is difficult and involves a lot of patience. Over time, managing it becomes easier, but even people who know how to control it better need some technique to be able to overcome the excruciating pain caused by illness or injury. Know that over time you will be able to control it, but you must be strong and patient until you learn.
Steps
Step 1. Sit down, stay calm, stand upright and clear your mind
Step 2. Breathe deeply
Even if you are experiencing a moment of pain and your lungs are "screaming" for air. If the adrenaline pushes you to breathe faster, breathe deeply.
Step 3. Focus on visualizing something that usually keeps you focused
It could be your favorite food, the feeling of a soft woolen blanket, or a place that calms your soul. Anything that can keep your mind away from pain is okay. Think about the feel, smell, taste (if possible) and sounds of this object or place. Focus on what you feel. Use all of your senses to "describe inwardly" the thing you are focusing on while distracting yourself from the pain.
Step 4. Think about what interests you most
Something you would be willing to suffer the most excruciating pain for or even die for. Focus on this, imagine it and visualize it. Do this exercise for about 10 minutes or until you feel ready.
Step 5. Use your pain source slowly
Start gently and recognize the sensation of pain. Now imagine yourself in a room. A special place where nobody or anything you don't want can enter. Imagine that the thing or person you care about is in the room with you. Focus on that thing / person and acknowledge the pain, but don't give in to it. Try to feel like you are not in your own body. Put your body and mind in two separate places.
Step 6. Another method that works in conjunction with this is to channel your energy
It looks like sleight of hand, but it's not. The technique you should adopt is a combination between that of traditional Kung Fu and that of the more modern Judo Kai. All this is remarkable if you practice a martial art. To begin with, you should meditate. Visualize your body as if it were a translucent 3D figure. You can be able to see your energy. Try using thousands of white dots to represent your energy, or qi. Now visualize your strengths. It is not in your transparent figure, but it flows through you. Now take your energy and focus it on the pain area and put all your strength there. Visualize as if it were real, directing your qi and your strength in that area. Now also imagine another force forming a kind of protective bubble around that point. Nothing can pass through it.
Step 7. Practice each of these techniques separately several times, until you feel you can use them together
Both of these techniques are very personal and you should constantly refine them.

- Call the emergency room if the pain is really excruciating.
- Mastering these techniques takes time. Practice them slowly. You should have completely honed your meditation before using them against pain.
- Find someone who can teach you meditation.
- Practice a martial art.
Warnings
- Make sure the injury isn't anything too serious. If you are bleeding continuously, see a doctor to prevent bleeding.
- Stay close to a phone in case something goes wrong.
- If you find pleasure in pain, stop immediately and ask for help. This could be an indication of a serious psychological condition.
- Don't deliberately harm yourself to try this technique.
