Step 3. Browse the available mods

Step 4. Make sure the mod is compatible
The mods you download will need to be compatible with your current version of Minecraft. All mods should report the version for which they were written in their information.
Step 5. Install the Forge API
This API is a new distribution that allows you to easily install more mods and minimize crashes. This is an optional tool, unless the mod specifically requires it. Some mods may require an older tool called Modloader. This tool is not compatible with the Forge API, so you will have to use one or the other.

Open the installer. Make sure it is set to "Install client" and then click OK. You will install Forge. You can select the Forge profile from your Minecrat launcher to load the Forge mods you have installed.

Step 6. Download the mods of your choice
Once you find some mods you want to try, download them to your computer. They should be available in.jar or.zip format.
Step 7. Install the mods
Open your Minecraft application folder, which is located in the \% appdata% / folder. You can access this folder by typing% appdata% in the Run field (Windows) or by holding down alt="Image" and then clicking on the Go menu and selecting Library (Mac). Open the Minecraft folder and then open the "mods" folder. Copy the mod file you downloaded into the folder.
Step 8. Launch Minecraft
Load the Forge profile (if you are using the Forge API) and then click Play. In the main menu, you will find the "Mods" option. Click to see the mods you have installed. IF you want to uninstall a mod, just delete it from the "mods" folder.
