The Ultima Weapon is the strongest Keyblade available in Kingdom Hearts 1. It can only be crafted if you have built all other possible items in the Moogle shop. Do you want the Ultima Weapon? Start with the first step.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Gather All Required Materials
Step 1. Make a list of everything you need
If you write down everything you need to make the Ultima Weapon, you will avoid going back and forth unnecessarily. Here's what you'll need:
- Power Gem, 5 pieces
- Lucid Gem, 5 pieces
- Thunder Gem, 5 pieces
- Mystery Goo, 3 pieces
- Gale, 3 pieces
Step 2. Collect 5 Power Gems
Power Gems are dropped by most of the heartless on Neverland, so they are very easy to catch. Here's what to do:
- Go to Neverland (Peter Pan's world).
- Transport yourself to the hut and exit through the only door, which leads to the harbor.
- Kill all the heartless on the harbor (Pirates, Air Pirates, and Battleships).
- Once you've gathered 5 pieces of Power Gem, head back to the hut and exit Neverland.
Step 3. Collect 5 Lucid Gems
Lucid Gems are a little harder to find and may require some patience. Here's how to get them:
- Transport yourself to Halloween Town (Jack Skellington's world) and land at Guillotine Gate.
- Exit the only door in this area, which will take you to Guillotine Square.
- Go northwest until you see a small lane with a staircase. Enter through the gate at the top of the stairs, it will take you to the cemetery.
- Plenty of enemies will appear in the graveyard. Target the Wight Knights (heartless like mummies) and Gargoyles (heartless like flying humanoid birds). You can go back to the Guillotine Gate, and then go back to the graveyard to have these heartless appear again.
- Once you've gathered 5 pieces of Lucid Gem, head back to the Guillotine Gate and exit Halloween Town.
Step 4. Gather 5 Thunder Gems
Gathering Thunder Gems can also be tricky as few heartless drop them. Therefore:
- Transport yourself to Atlantica (the world of the Little Mermaid) and land on Triton's throne.
- Go south to the only exit, which will take you to Triton's palace.
- Go north, and you'll see Screwdivers (heartless carrying tridents or three-pointed spears) and an Aquatank (heartless looking like large monkfish). Kill them to get Thunder Gems.
- Go to the Underersea Gorge, which is directly north of where you came from. More Screwdivers and Aquatanks will appear in this area. Kill them to get more Thunder Gems.
- Once you have gathered 5 pieces of Thunder Gem, return to the throne of Triton and exit Atlantica.
Step 5. Collect 3 Mystery Goo
To get the Mystery Goo, you must defeat White Mushrooms, Black Fungi, or Rare Truffles. White Mushrooms are the best option because Black Fungi rarely drop Mystery Goo, and it takes more skill and patience to defeat the Rare Truffles.
- Transport yourself to Wonderland and land at the Queen's Castle.
- Head north to the center of the room, then head east. The door there will lead you to Lotus Forest.
- White Mushrooms appear in this place, about 3 or 4 at a time. To defeat them, you have to play their game of "charades" and guess which spell to cast. For shivering White Mushrooms, use fire spells; for those that fan, use ice spells. If a light appears on a White Mushroom, use thunder spells. If the White Mushroom is on the ground, use healing spells. If the White Mushroom stops moving, it uses stop spells. If it floats in the air, it uses gravity spells. If he goes round and round, he uses aero spells.
- After you guess the right spell 3 times in a row, the Mushroom will reward you with items, including the Mystery Goo.
- Collect 3 Mystery Goos, then return to the Queen's Castle and leave Wonderland.
Step 6. Gather 3 pieces of Gale
The heartless who drop the Gale are very powerful, so be prepared:
- Transport yourself to the End of the World (the last world you unlock) and land at the Final Rest. This is the final room before the last boss battle.
- Return to the previous room rather than going through the last door.
- This room has 2 types of heartless: Invisibles, which are black, and Angel Stars, which have wings. Kill them and collect Gale's pieces.
- Return to the Final Rest and re-enter the room, causing the heartless to reappear. Kill them and collect Gale's pieces. Repeat as needed.
- Once you've gathered 3 pieces of Gale, head back to the Final Rest and leave the End of the World.
Part 2 of 2: Making the Ultima Weapon
Step 1. Transport yourself to Traverse Town (where you first meet Leon and the rest of the Final Fantasy groups) and land at the accessories shop
Step 2. In the shop, go up a ladder and enter the synthesis shop, better known as the Moogle shop
Step 3. Talk to the Moogle in front of the forge, and select "Ultima Weapon," which should be last on the list
Step 4. Confirm the synthesis, and the Moogle will create your Keyblade
The synthesis has a 100% chance of success, so enjoy your new Ultima Weapon!
Advice
- To get a better percentage of drop on the materials you need, remember to equip Sora, Donald and Goofy with the lucky strike ability.
- When you cast the right spells on the White Mushrooms 3 times in a row, you will be rewarded with a rare arts item. When you collect all 7, you can take them to Merlin in Traverse Town, which will give you Dream Shield for Goofy.
- When trying to rally the Gales, bring potions with you so you don't get accidentally killed. Avoid the attacks of Invisible and Angel Star with dodge roll and wait for openings.
