Of course, you know that to reach the Elite Four, you have to go through Via Vittoria. If you are having trouble walking through the cave or don't know how to get there, here is a useful guide for you.
Tip: You will need a Pokemon with the Force move to cross Victory Road.
Steps
Step 1. Reach Via Vittoria
Fly to Viridian City and proceed west until you find a large building at the end of Route 22. Enter and follow the path indicated by the guards, who will ask if you have the necessary medals to pass the eight gates. Eventually, you will see the entrance to Via Vittoria. Proceed.
Step 2. Head to the nearest boulder and push it east until it covers the switch on the right
A barrier will be raised in the passage above the staircase
Step 3. Climb the stairs until you find an intersection with a trainer waiting for you
The right path is the one on the left, but on the right you will find two items, the TM2 Dragon Claw and a Rare Candy, but you can only collect one for each visit to Via Vittoria, so please skip this step. Continuing on the road to the left, go down the stairs and go north, challenge a trainer and go up the stairs you see.
Step 4. Proceed south and push a boulder on a switch in the lower left
It is a switch for another barrier. Climb the stairs and go east towards two coaches and two stairways. Go down the nearest stairs.
Step 5. Head east and follow the path going north until you see a ladder next to a trainer moving in circles
Climb the ladder. Push the boulder north, then west to cover the switch near an object. Go back and go up the stairs leading to the upper level, passing another trainer until you see another set of steps.
Step 6. On your way down, pass a couple of coaches until you reach a boulder in front of a hole
Push the boulder, then jump into the hole. Now push the same boulder left towards a switch. The barrier that prevented you from reaching a ladder in the upper level will rise. Climb the steps to reach the highest level and climb the ladder.
Step 7. Overcome a pair of trainers (double battle:
Nidoking and Nidoqueen both at lv. 45) and go down the ladder behind them. Proceed to the right, pass a man teaching the Double Blade move and exit Via Vittoria.
Step 8. Proceeding north of the cave, you will find a small labyrinth
Choose one of the paths on the right. You will exit the maze and find yourself in front of the door of the Pokemon League.
Advice
- The wild Pokemon of Via Vittoria are the following: Machop, Mankey, Onix, and Golbat are the most common. You will have to search a bit to find Machoke, Marowak, and Primeape. In RossoFuoco you will find Arbok and in VerdeFoglia Sandslash.
- If you like to explore, you can find eight objects in Via Vittoria. If you want them all, here's the list of what you can find: TM2 (Dragon Claw, Rare Candy, TM37 (Sandstorm), Total Heal, TM7 (Bora), TM50 (Overheat), Revive Max, and a Spec Guard.
- If you want to conserve Pokemon health for battles with trainers on Victory Road, you should avoid facing or catching wild Pokemon until you reach the Pokemon League building (once you reach it, you can return thanks to Volo).
