Do you want to change the look of your Minecraft world? A texture pack can make Minecraft a whole new game. Follow this guide to install texture packs on all operating systems.

Method 1 of 4: Get a Texture Pack
Step 1. Try to understand what a texture pack is
These packs change the visual appearance of Minecraft items, without affecting the game mechanics. Texture packs can be created by anyone and there are thousands to choose from.
Step 2. Find some texture packs
There are many sites on the internet that offer the possibility to download texture packs for free. Many have rankings and categories that you can browse. Search a search engine for "Minecraft texture packs" and start visiting some sites. Look for textures that appeal to you; you can see previews of many of them.
Try to download textures only from trusted sites. Look for reviews to make sure you don't accidentally download malicious software
Step 3. Download the texture pack
Each site has slightly different download procedures. The texture pack files you downloaded should be in.zip format.
Method 2 of 4: Install on Windows
Step 1. Copy the texture pack
Open the folder where you downloaded the package. Right-click on it and select Copy.
Step 2. Open the Minecraft texture pack folder
To do this, open the Run command line by pressing the Windows key and R. Type “% appdata% /. Minecraft / texturepacks” and press Enter. A window will open, showing the contents of your texture folder.
Step 3. Paste the package
Right-click in the folder you opened and select Paste. Your new texture pack will appear inside the folder.
Step 4. Open Minecraft
To activate the new textures, select Texture Packs from the menu. You will find the new package in the list. Select it and click on Done.
Method 3 of 4: Install on Mac OS X
Step 1. Open the Minecraft textures folder
You'll normally find it in ~ / Library / Applications Support / minecraft / texturepacks /.
You can access ~ / Library / by opening the Go menu, holding down the Option button and selecting Library
Step 2. Move the texture pack
Click and drag the.zip file into the texture folder.
Step 3. Open Minecraft
To activate the new textures, select Mods and Texture Packs from the menu. You will find the new package in the list. Select it and click on Done.
Method 4 of 4: Install on Linux
Step 1. Copy the texture pack
Open the folder where you downloaded the package. Right-click on it and select Copy.
Step 2. Open the Minecraft texture folder
To do this, open the terminal and type /.minecraft/texturepacks/. A window will open showing the contents of the texture folder.
Step 3. Paste the package
Paste the.zip file into the texture folder.
Step 4. Open Minecraft
To activate the new textures, select Texture Packs from the menu. You will find the new package in the list. Select it and click on Done.
