Steps
Method 1 of 2: Wired Connection

Step 1. Connect to an Ethernet cable
On the back of your console you will see an Ethernet port. connect the cable here.

Step 2. Go to settings
Turn on the PlayStation 4 and go to settings. Press X.

Step 3. Select “Network Options”
After selecting the settings icon, scroll down until you find "Network Options" and press X.

Step 4. Set up the connection
Go to "Internet Connection Settings" and press X. Select "Use a LAN" and then choose "Easy." The "Easy" option will allow your console to access the network directly by transposing your network settings automatically.

Step 5. Verify the connection
After completing the setup you will see an option to verify the connection. This test will show you whether or not your console is able to connect to the internet.
Method 2 of 2: Wireless Connection

Step 1. Go to Settings
Turn on the PlayStation 4 and go to settings. Press X.

Step 2. Select “Network Options”
After selecting the settings icon, scroll down until you find "Network Options" and press X.

Step 3. Set up the connection
Go to "Internet Connection Settings" and press X. Select "Wi-Fi," and then choose "Easy." The "Easy" option will allow your console to access the network directly by accepting your network settings automatically.

Step 4. Select your network
Depending on how many wireless connections there are you may see different networks. Choose the network you prefer and, if it requires a password, enter it with the virtual keyboard that appears on the screen.

Step 5. Verify the connection
After completing the setup you will see an option to verify the connection. This test will show you whether or not your console is able to connect to the internet.
