This article explains how to change the content shown by YouTube by country. You can do this both on your computer and through the mobile application. However, changing the location of the content prevents you from seeing some videos in your area.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: On the Computer
Step 1. Log in to YouTube
If you are already logged in, the start page will appear.
If you are not logged in, click on "Log in", then enter your email address and password to continue
Step 2. Click the profile icon at the top right
A drop-down menu will open.
Step 3. Click on Settings, which is located towards the end of the menu
Step 4. Click on the box "Contents from:
. It's at the bottom of the page. Once clicked, a drop-down menu will open.
Step 5. Scroll down and select the country whose content you want to see
The page will reload and your settings will be saved.
Method 2 of 2: On Mobile
Step 1. Open YouTube by tapping on the app icon, depicting the characteristic red and white logo
If you are already logged in, your profile home page will open.
If you are not logged in, you will need to enter your email address and password to continue
Step 2. Tap the profile icon at the top right
A menu will open.
Step 3. Tap Settings
This item is located towards the center of the screen.
Step 4. Tap General (Android only)
Anyone with an iPhone or iPad can skip this step.
Step 5. Tap Local Content
It is located almost at the bottom of the screen.
Step 6. Select a country from the list
Step 7. Tap
This arrow is at the top left. The settings will be saved. You should be able to see videos tied to a given country or region.
