This article explains how to bypass Fortinet's web filter using a proxy server. A proxy server is a virtual network that acts as an intermediary to get you to connect to a blocked website, acting as if it were a bridge. Proxy servers can also hide your IP address, allowing you to browse anonymously. However, your administrator may be able to determine if you were using this service. Visiting a site through a proxy server is usually a much slower process than a direct connection. Also, some features may be missing.
Steps
Step 1. Visit https://hide.me/en/proxy using a browser
If the "hide.me" proxy server is not available, try vpnbook or whoer.net. You can also search for a proxy server on Google
Step 2. Type the URL of the blocked website in the indicated bar
Most proxies have the address bar in the center of the page.
Step 3. Select the server location
Most proxies have a drop-down menu next to the URL bar, which allows you to select a location in the US, Europe, or elsewhere. Choose the location closest to you. Some proxy servers allow you to select a random location.
Step 4. Click on the Go button
On other proxy servers this button may be called in different ways, such as "Visit anonymously", "Browse anonymously" and so on.
