This article explains how to access public folders in Outlook 2016. Outlook public folders are used to share information with large groups of people, such as a company division or faculty. Public folders have permission settings that allow you to determine who can view, create, and modify the items they contain.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: On Windows
Step 1. Open Outlook
The program icon consists of an envelope and an O on a blue background.
Step 2. Click on ⋯
It is located at the bottom of the Inbox navigation panel, located on the left.
If the navigation panel is collapsed, click on ">" to expand it
Step 3. Click on Folders
It is found in the pop-up menu.
Step 4. Click on Public Folders
The section will expand and show all public folders that you have been granted access to.
Step 5. Click on the public folder you want to access
Method 2 of 2: On Mac
Step 1. Click on Tools
It is located in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Step 2. Click on Public Folders
It is located in the "Tools" menu.
Step 3. Click on a public folder
Step 4. Click Register
It is located next to the green icon containing the "+" symbol. The folders you signed up to appear in the navigation pane.
Step 5. Click on a folder in the navigation panel
The navigation panel is on the left. Click on a public folder to view its contents.
