6 Ways To Cancel Your Netflix Membership

The steps required to cancel your Netflix membership vary based on how you sign up. If you signed up from the Netfilx website, visit Netflix.com on any computer, phone or tablet. If, on the other hand, you pay for your subscription through iTunes, Google Play, or Amazon Prime, you have to cancel it directly from one of those services. This article explains how to cancel your Netflix membership on various platforms.

Steps

Method 1 of 6: Cancel your subscription on Netflix.com

Step 1. Visit

Follow these steps if you signed up for Netflix from the website and send payments directly to the streaming service. If you haven't already signed in to your account, follow the onscreen instructions to do so now.

You can use this method on your computer, phone or tablet

Step 2. Click on your main profile

This is usually the first available name from the left.

Step 3. Click on your profile photo

You will see it in the upper right corner of the page. Press it and a menu will open.

Step 4. Click on Account in the newly appeared menu

Step 5. Click on the gray Cancel subscription button

You will find it at the top left of the page, right under "SUBSCRIPTIONS & PAYMENTS".

If you don't see this button, it means you don't pass payments directly to Netflix. Instead, on this page you will see the service you signed up through (e.g. Google Play, iTunes, Amazon Prime), as well as instructions to cancel your subscription directly from that service

Step 6. Click on the blue Complete Delete button

The Netflix service will continue to operate until the last day of the current contract period. You will not be charged for any other payments.

Method 2 of 6: Cancel your Netflix subscription on Google Play

Step 1. Open the Google Play Store

on your Android device.

You will find it in the apps folder. If you signed up for Netflix on an Android device and are making payments via Google Play, follow these steps to cancel your subscription.

If you don't have access to an Android device but are making payments through Google Play, sign in at https://play.google.com, then skip to Step 3

Step 2. Press the menu button ☰

You will see it in the upper left corner of the screen.

Step 3. Press Subscriptions from the menu

A list of your subscriptions on Google Play will appear.

Step 4. Tap on Netflix

Your account information will appear, including the cost of the service and the renewal date.

If you don't see Netflix in your subscription list, you've probably signed up from Netflix.com or through another service. It is also possible that you used a different Google account to sign up

Step 5. Click on Cancel subscription

A confirmation message will appear.

Step 6. Click on Cancel subscription to confirm

You will be able to continue watching content on Netflix until the current billing period expires, which will no longer be renewed.

Method 3 of 6: Cancel Netflix iTunes Subscription from iPhone or iPad

Step 1. Open the settings

of your iPhone or iPad.

You will find this gear icon on the home screen; if not, you can search for it with Spotlight. Follow these steps if you pay for your Netflix subscription through iTunes (this often happens if you signed up using an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV).

Step 2. Click on your name

You will see it at the top of the screen.

Step 3. Tap on iTunes & App Store

Step 4. Click on your Apple ID

It's the email at the top of the screen. Press it and a menu will appear.

Step 5. Press View Apple ID in the menu

Based on your security settings, you may need to verify your identity to continue.

Step 6. Scroll down and hit the Subscriptions button

It is located in the center of the page.

Step 7. Select your Netflix subscription

Information about the service will appear.

If you don't see Netflix in your subscription list, you've probably signed up from Netflix.com or through another service. Also, you may have used a different Apple ID

Step 8. Click on Cancel subscription at the bottom of the page

A confirmation message will appear.

You will be able to continue to access Netflix until the current billing period expires, which will not be renewed.

Method 4 of 6: Unsubscribe from Netflix on iTunes from a Computer

Step 1. Open iTunes on your computer

If you signed up for Netflix on an Apple device and are making payments via iTunes, follow these steps to cancel your subscription.

  Step 5. Click Delete channel next to "Netflix
