Relax and get your work done despite the hustle and bustle that could cause you to lose focus. Once you lose focus, everything else starts to fall apart creating a bad day at work.
Steps
Step 1. Wake up early - for many people, the first 20 minutes of the morning are the most stressful and drain energy for the rest of the day
Wake up an hour earlier than usual so you can do everything calmly. Try to leave the house half an hour earlier.
Step 2. Don't skip breakfast
Eat a bowl of cereal with milk (or almond or soy milk). Skipping breakfast (or other meals) does not help with weight loss, although some claim it does. However, do not eat diet cereals - eat oats with fresh raspberries or banana slices.
Step 3. Start the day by dressing up, fixing your hair and above all with a nice smile
Prepare your clothes the night before (e.g. by ironing them). Shave or put on good makeup. Your day will be more positive if others treat you well and people tend to be kinder if you look good and if you take care of yourself.
Step 4. Get to work half an hour earlier
Since you left the house half an hour early, you will have plenty of time to get to work without being cold. Chances are your boss will be very happy to see you arrive early and may be more tolerant for the rest of the day.
Step 5. Use the extra half hour
Remember that the extra time doesn't belong to your boss. Plan your day. Read the company regulations to check which duties you are entitled to (the job description), or learn to do something new. For example, if you are the new software project manager, you could inquire about administration. On the other hand, if you work in the sales field, learn how to fix your computer's barcode reader when it's not working.
Step 6. When someone asks you to do something, stop for a moment and listen
Keep a notepad handy and take notes so you don't forget. Check your notes about four times a day to make sure you haven't forgotten to do something urgent.
Step 7. Don't get angry or stressed about irrelevant things so as not to ruin the day
Unexpected and unwanted things happen often, it is normal and the people around you understand this. The most important thing is to know how to deal with failures. Make sure the relevant supervisor is aware of the risks before they occur and come up with a contingency plan. Understand the solution.
Step 8. Be determined but avoid conflicts
By understanding people's motives and thinking about why they create a conflict, you can find solutions that are acceptable to both of you. While other people's motives may seem selfish to you - for example, if a co-worker doesn't want to do a time-consuming job because they want to finish work early because of a date - the conflict will only strengthen their position or cause resentment. Try to find advantages, for example: "No problem, I'll take care of it and I hope your appointment goes smoothly. By the way, I have to finish earlier on Friday, so maybe you could help me out that day."
Step 9. Plan to go home on time
Make sure you finish the job half an hour early so that you can dedicate this time to complete everything. If you often have to stay in the office late because there is too much work to do, it is unlikely that you will be able to finish everything in the evening, therefore, whatever it is, it can wait until tomorrow. Disconnect from work on time and don't worry about queues and traffic. Maybe your boss will understand that you need an assistant for the job and maybe you could get a promotion and become the new person's manager.
Advice
- Develop a right mindset towards work. What is the purpose of your work? How do you help others? For example, do you work in a doctor's office and organize accounting by making the business work? Do you help the elderly to have contact with the outside world thanks to the newspaper you deliver to them every morning? Or, if you're the more competitive type, who will you outrun today? Or, what will you do to make your business better than the competition?
- Mental attitude is more important than what many think. Playing the guitar is a lot more fun than brushing your teeth, however they are both normal physical activities, it is our mental attitude that makes us want to do something (as any child forced to learn something against his will can testify).
- When you arrive at the workplace, always smile. Smiling helps brighten your day and show your colleagues that you have a good attitude.
- Once you've found the reasons why you want to do your job, turn your idealism into reality. Follow your mission every day and enjoy your success.
- Determine the aspects of your job that you enjoy most and try to spend as much time as possible doing these things. Soon, others will identify them as "your job".
- Since most of your time is spent at work, it is important that you enjoy yourself.
