The Nintendo Wii console can connect to the internet via a broadband connection and do various things, including: browsing the internet, downloads, online chat, and visiting any site including sites made with Flash 7 and 8. The Easiest Way to Connect to the internet is to use your wireless connection.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Setting up the console
Step 1. Make sure your connection is working properly and all green lights are on
If you have the Nintendo Wifi Connector, you will need to install the appropriate software on your PC to connect to the internet.
Step 2. Turn on your Wii
Step 3. Select Wii Options, bottom left
The button with the "Wii" logo.
Step 4. Select Wii Settings
Step 5. Advance to the second screen by clicking the blue arrow on the right
Step 6. Choose the Internet
Step 7. Choose Connection Settings
Step 8. Choose an open connection, marked by the word:
"it is not".
Step 9. Choose a wireless connection
Step 10. Choose the option that suits you best:
Manual configuration or Search for an Access Point.
Step 11. By clicking on Search for Access Point, your Wii will search for wireless networks to connect to and display them in a list
Networks marked with a closed padlock require a password for access.
Step 12. Choose your network
- If your connection signal appears yellow or red, the signal strength is poor and not sufficient for the needs of your Wii. If possible, remove any obstacles between the Wii and the Access Point or change the channel on your router to avoid interference.
- If your network is not listed when you click Search for an Access Point, your router may have disabled the network name broadcast. Some routers call this "Stealth Mode". To fix, you could turn on normal mode or manually enter the network name (SSID) during Wii setup.
Step 13. Click Save and OK
Step 14. Click OK on the next screen and the Wii will begin testing the connection
Step 15. Wait for the Wii to connect and download the necessary updates
Method 2 of 2: Browsing the Internet
Step 1. Go to the Wii Shop Channel and download the Internet Channel, it's free
Step 2. Choose Internet Channel from the main screen and follow the instructions to browse the internet
Don't hesitate to browse any site you want, like Facebook or Twitter.

- Some wireless routers have known Wii compatibility issues. If you have an incompatible access point, try using the Nintendo WiFi USB Connector which you can buy on their online store.
- Download other channels to access other services.
- The WiiConnect24 service will allow your Wii to access the internet at any time, download in the background or when the console is not in use.
- Consult the Wii forum for more information.
- If it doesn't work for a while, wait five or ten minutes and then try again.
- If your internet connection is complicated and / or you have a fixed IP, you may need to use manual settings; this requires special information from your ISP. The link below takes you to the Nintendo step-by-step manual setup page.
- Try to keep the Wii close enough to the source of the connection to reduce the risk of it disconnecting. If you can get her closer, do it.
- If you are unable to connect, please move closer to the access point.
- You may not have to use arrows.
