When you make a call with your iPhone, can you barely hear the voice of your interlocutor? Try using the 'Hands-free' function provided by your device. You will most likely be able to follow the conversation without major problems. This guide shows you all the steps required to take advantage of this feature of your iPhone.
Steps
Step 1. Call the person you want to talk to, or answer the call from the person looking for you
Step 2. Move the phone away from your ear, but don't hang up on the call
Bring the phone in front of you so you can see its screen. You will see a number of options available.
Step 3. Locate the 'Speakerphone' button
Step 4. Press the 'Speakerphone' button to activate its function
Step 5. Locate the volume controls and use them to adjust the phone volume
These are the same controls you use to adjust the volume of all applications and phone functions.
Step 6. Press the 'Speakerphone' button again to deactivate its function and resume normal use of the phone, listening to your interlocutor through the earpiece on the top of the iPhone
Advice
- Even when the 'Hands-free' function is active, you will always be able to put your interlocutor on hold, just as you will be able to carry out all the activities you do when making a call by holding the phone to your ear.
- Even if you are making a hands-free call with your iPhone, you will still be able to access your contact list. To do this, press the 'Home' button and select the 'Contacts' application to view the list of your contacts.
Warnings
- When you make a call using your iPhone's 'Hands Free' feature, you use a lot more battery than normal, so it may need to be recharged earlier than usual. Don't let your iPhone battery drain too much while you are making a hands-free call, or the device may shut down before you finish the conversation.
- When you activate the 'Mute' function while you are making a hands-free call, not only will your interlocutor no longer hear you as usual, but the 'Hands-free' function will also be deactivated (until the 'Mute' function is deactivated again).
