This article explains how to enable and use the Bitmoji keyboard on Android devices. In most cases, in order to use the Bitmoji keyboard, you will also need to install the Google Gboard keyboard.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Install the Gboard and Bitmoji Keyboards
Step 1. Launch the Google Play Store app by tapping the icon
It features a multicolored triangle.
Step 2. Tap the search bar
It is located at the top of the screen. The virtual keyboard of the device will be displayed.
Step 3. Search for the Gboard app
Type in the keyword gboard, then select the app Gboard - the Google keyboard from the list of results that will appear.
Step 4. Press the Install button
It is green in color and located at the top right of the screen. Gboard keyboard app will be installed on the Android device.
Step 5. Download and configure the Bitmoji app if needed
If you have not yet downloaded and installed the app under review and created a profile, you will need to do so now before you will be able to use the Bitmoji keyboard on your Android device.
- You can download the Bitmoji app directly from the Play Store without incurring any costs.
- If you've already created a Bitmoji account via the Snapchat app, make sure you log into the program using the same profile.
Part 2 of 3: Enable the Use of Gboard and Bitmoji
Step 1. Launch the Settings app
Access the notification bar by sliding two fingers down the screen from the top, then tap the icon Settings
in the shape of a gear placed in the upper right corner of the panel that appeared.
Step 2. Scroll down the menu to select Language and input
It is displayed approximately in the middle of the "Settings" menu.
If you are using a Samsung Galaxy device, scroll down the "Settings" menu to be able to select the option General management, then choose the item Language and input.
Step 3. Select the Current Keyboard option
It is located in the "Keyboard and input methods" section. A small pop-up window will appear.
If you are using a Samsung Galaxy, you will need to select the item first Virtual keyboard and then tap the option Manage keyboards.
Step 4. Press the Choose keyboards button
It is displayed at the bottom of the pop-up window that appears.
If you are using a Samsung Galaxy skip this step
Step 5. Enable the use of Bitmoji and Gboard keyboards
Tap the gray slider or select the check button to the right of "Gboard" and confirm your action by following the instructions that will appear on the screen, then repeat the step for the "Bitmoji" keyboard.
Step 6. Set the Gboard keyboard as the default keyboard of the Android device
You can perform this step directly from the Gboard app. After enabling the use of the Gboard and Bitmoji keyboards, press the "Home" key of the device and follow these instructions:
- Launch the Gboard app;
- Tap the item Select input method;
- Select the option Gboard;
- Tap the item Authorizations;
- Select the option Allow for each item in the list;
- Push the button end.
Step 7. Restart the Android device
Press and hold the "Power" button until a small pop-up window appears on the screen displaying a menu, then press the button twice Restart to reboot the device.
Part 3 of 3: Using the Bitmoji Keyboard
Step 1. Launch an app that supports using the Bitmoji keyboard
Popular and used apps that support this input method include Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Google Hangouts, Messages (for Android), WhatsApp and Twitter.
Step 2. Tap a text field
Find a text field within the app under review, then tap it to select it. In most messaging apps, the content entry text field is located at the bottom of a conversation page.
Make sure you don't select a search bar
Step 3. Tap the icon
It features a small smiley and is located at the bottom of the screen to the left of the keyboard space bar. The menu of options available to insert Emoji will be displayed.
Step 4. Tap the icon
Scroll through the list of Bitmoji you have available until you find the one you want to use, then tap it to select it. The icon you chose should have appeared inside the input text field.
Step 5. Tap the search bar and type a keyword to search for a new Bitmoji
Tap the search bar that displays "Bitmoji Search", then type a keyword related to the type of Bitmoji you are looking for.
For example, if you want to send a nice Bitmoji to someone you love, search using the keyword "love" and scroll down the list of icons that will appear related to the search word
Step 6. Tap a Bitmoji image to select it
In this way the chosen icon will be inserted in the text field where you are composing the message to be sent.
Most of the app allows you to enter a text message that will be sent to the recipient along with the selected Bitmoji
Step 7. Press the button

or Publish.
In most messaging apps, the send button has a paper airplane icon and is located in the lower right corner of the message pane. This way the Bitmoji and the message you wrote will be sent to the recipient. If you are creating a post within a social network, most likely the button to press will be characterized by the words "Publish".
