If you have forgotten your Facebook account login password, you are most likely tearing your hair out trying to remember it at all costs. Stop! Fortunately, Facebook offers a robust system for resetting your login password securely using several methods. The available options will be determined by the recovery system you have set up for your account.
Steps
Step 1. Log in to the Facebook website
If you can't remember your Facebook login password, you can use the reset tool to create a new one.
If you can't remember your Facebook login password, and you normally use the mobile app, select the "Need help?" located on the main page of the application, then follow the steps of this guide
Step 2. Select the link "Forgot your password?
". This link is located below the text field relating to entering the password that you find in the upper right part of the login page to your Facebook account.
Step 3. Find your account
In the field that appears, type your email address, phone number, username or full name to try to locate your account.
- You can enter any of the email addresses associated with your account, then try typing as many as you remember by entering them one at a time.
- You can enter the phone number only if you have one associated with your account.
- If you are having trouble locating your Facebook profile, skip to the Troubleshooting section at the bottom of this article.
Step 4. Choose the restore option you want
You have several ways to reset your account password, depending on the reset information you have associated with the account.
- Use my Google account - This option allows you to reset your Facebook password by logging into your Google account.
- Email me password reset link - This option sends an email to the address listed with the link to create a new password.
- Send me an SMS with the code to reset my password - This option sends an SMS to the phone number listed with the code to reset your password.
- If you don't have access to your email inbox, you don't have a Google account and you don't have a phone number associated with your account, select the "Can't access it anymore?" Option. This will take you to a new page where you can enter a new email address or phone number. In order to reset your password, you'll need to answer the security questions to verify your identity, and the process won't be instant.
Step 5. Enter the code
Based on the recovery method you chose, write down the code that was sent to you. You should receive it after a few moments. Type the code in the text field to access the password reset page.
Step 6. Create a new password

Step 1. Facebook reports that the new password entered is incorrect
If the internet browser you are using has stored an old password associated with your Facebook account, it may overwrite the new password you entered. Delete the saved password from the browser, then try to log in again using the new password.

Step 2. I don't remember the email address I registered with
Look for a friend who can locate your contact information using their Facebook account. During the password reset process you may have difficulty locating your account if you don't remember the associated email address. Your friend will be able to trace your e-mail address by consulting your contact information via their Facebook profile.
Step 3. I don't know my Facebook username
Find a friend who can locate your username using their Facebook profile. Your username is the final part that makes up the URL of the web page relating to your Facebook profile (the characters placed after the last /). Get help from a friend who can send you the URL of your Facebook profile page to be able to trace your username.
