This article explains how to permanently delete your Facebook account. If you have decided to stop using the social network, remember that by adopting this method you will never be able to retrace your steps. Also remember that it is not possible to permanently close the account using the mobile app.
Steps
Step 1. Log into Facebook and access the page that allows you to delete your account
Open the browser you usually use and type the address in the address bar, then press the Enter key.
If login does not happen automatically, enter the your email address or your phone number and the password in the appropriate fields, then click the button Log in to log into your account. This is the blue button located in the center of the page.
Step 2. Click the Delete Account button
It is located in the lower right part of the pane that contains information about the permanent account deletion procedure. After pressing the button, you will see a pop-up window appear.
Step 3. Re-enter your account password
Type in the field called "Password", located at the top of the window.
Step 4. Enter the captcha code
This is the set of letters and numbers visible in the center of the window. Type the characters displayed in the text field displayed below the code.
If the captcha code is not clearly legible, you can use the link Try different words to have a new one or that be generated an audio captcha for the code to be reproduced verbally.
Step 5. Click the OK button to confirm the code you entered
If it is correct, another pop-up window will open.
If the password or captcha code entered is incorrect, you will need to repeat the operation
Step 6. Click the OK button to confirm that you want to permanently delete your Facebook account
The button is located at the bottom of the second pop-up window that appears. Total deletion of all your data can take up to 14 days; at that point your Facebook account will have been permanently deleted.
Advice
You can download your account data by accessing the section Settingsby selecting the tab Your information on Facebookby clicking on the item Download your information and finally pressing the key Create the file.
Warnings
- After 14 days from your request to cancel your account, it will no longer be possible to restore it.
- Facebook may store some information relating to your account in its databases.
