Popcorn has been keeping us company for many years. They are with us in theme parks, rides, shopping malls and cinemas. Let's see how we can also take them to our home in a simple and fast way! Turn on the television, the movie is about to start, and the popcorn is almost ready.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Bread bag - fast and cheap
It's the cheapest and healthiest way to make popcorn in your home. You will have the certainty of having quality ingredients, you will know not to ingest fat and you will avoid the purchase of expensive ready-made products.
Step 1. Buy some food paper bags, bread bags are fine, make sure they can be used in the microwave
Step 2. Pour about 50 grams of raw corn kernels into a bag
Step 3. Fold the bag in half
Do not use pins or metal objects to close it.
Step 4. Put the bag in the microwave, leave the open side facing down
(as in the picture)
Step 5. Cook on full power for about 2-3 minutes
The time changes according to your microwave oven, do not stray, watch carefully what happens and as soon as you notice that more than 1 or 2 seconds pass between a crackling and the other, turn off the oven.
Step 6. Pour the popcorn into a bowl and season to taste
Start the movie!
Method 2 of 3: Ready-made packaging
Step 1. Buy your favorite pack of ready-to-cook popcorn
Step 2. Follow the instructions on the package
Indicatively they should be these:
- Massage the popcorn package to break up the solid parts of the seasoning, then place it in the microwave.
- Look at the cooking time recommended by the instructions, add another 30 seconds and set up your oven. Turn it off when more than 1 or 2 seconds elapse between pops.
- Remove the bag from the oven, popcorn is great when served hot. Good movie!
Method 3 of 3: Pot
Cooked Popcorns are good and quick to prepare, unlike what many people believe. Just a little attention is needed as hot oil is used.
Step 1. Get a pot with a high bottom and a lid
Choose one with holes to help the steam escape during cooking. Popcorn will be crisper and drier.
Step 2. Pour three tablespoons of quality oil into the pot
(Also follow the quantities indicated on the corn package).
Step 3. Put the pot on medium heat and add a couple of corn kernels; when you hear them burst the oil is hot enough
Step 4. Pour in about 100g of corn (or the amount indicated on the package) and cover with the lid
If your lid does not have holes, leave some space for the steam to escape.
Step 5. Gently shake the pot to prevent the kernels from burning before bursting
Step 6. Keep shaking gently as the popcorn pops
Turn off the heat when the popping noise begins to fade.
Step 7. Wait a few more seconds, there are always 'latecomers', then remove the lid
Step 8. Pour the popcorn into a large bowl and season to taste
Good movie!
