Becoming a Disney princess is harder than it sounds: it requires talent, ambition and the ability to recreate the magic that Disney does every day. Only a few of the hundreds of girls who participate in the auditions make it through the selection. Do you think you are eligible to work as a Disney princess at Disney World or Disneyland? Steps
Step 1. Pay attention to the requirements
To be a princess you must be between 1.60m and 1.70m tall. There have been some slightly taller princesses, so don't worry if you're a little over 1.70m tall. They could get you through the same. But don't give up on your dreams even if you are a little less than 1.60m tall: you can always play the role of a fairy, or Alice or Wendy Darling. You also need to be able to speak fluent English and be willing to work in the United States. If you are from another country, you will need a work visa.
Step 2. Go to www.disneyauditions.com to find out the dates of the auditions:
you must pass this stage to enter. Auditions take place in a comfortable atmosphere where everyone is happy. So don't be nervous. Look for a date to sign up for. If you pass all the selection levels you will become a princess!
Step 3. Practice dancing and acting
At auditions you will be asked to perform an 8-stroke choreography. It's very simple, and the goal is to see how comfortable you feel. So remember to smile all the time and show that you know what you are doing, even if you don't. You will also be asked to simulate a skit in which you have to pretend you are doing housework. Be as lively as you can, because remember that you are bringing a character to life!
Step 4. Be spirited, fun and happy
Be cheerful, enthusiastic and nice, but be careful not to overdo it. Show the staff all your qualities.
Step 5. Don't show up for the costume audition
You can't wear a princess dress. You must wear sneakers and comfortable clothing. If you have dance shoes, go ahead and wear them. Don't wear any makeup, Disney wants to see your face, not a mask of it! And the hair pulled back in a ponytail will make it even easier. If you wear glasses, opt for contact lenses.
Step 6. Prepare a passport photo and curriculum vitae
In the photo, dose your makeup and smile. Make sure the light is right and there is nothing strange in the background.
Step 7. It will not be you who will choose which character will be entrusted to you, but the staff
When they ask your name, just say your name! Don't say which character you would like to play. And if you pass the selection, you will play various characters, so you could also play the role you aspired to, if you reflect their characteristics.
Step 8. Don't worry if you don't pass the selection
There will be other auditions to attend. It is common for a potential princess to audition several times before being recruited. However, Disney does not allow auditions to be attended more than once every six months.
Advice
- Do not be shy. If you start to feel silly while acting or skit, don't worry, you're doing a good job!
- Be very polite too! At the audition they will look even though it may be enjoyable to work with you! If you are rude, you will not make a good impression!
